^^^^ Muchly yes please Rob.

Okey doke.  No rush to shift them, although I could always meet you half way.

Should be OK for the AX seeing as the bumpers are short.  I think it did for the Mazda due to the longness.

Senator B silencers, £free.  One Bosal the other Walker.   I keep meaning to bin these but I can see my local tip refusing them.

Thule roofbar clamps for Pug 306 and Rover 200/25

Free for collection or postage at cost

attachicon.gifIMG_20180105_165857673.jpg

Forgive my total ignorance, but what does this kit include? I could do with a set of roof bars for our 306. Do I assume that this is literally just the bit that engages with a 'foot pack' or does it actually go all the way from the gutter socket thing (?) to the bar?

I've been looking on Halfords at Thule stuff and they don't seem to know what a 306 even is.

I'm not really sure, these boxes turned up at work and nobody knows where they came from. The 306 one has already been claimed by PM though so I'll ask the new owner when he collects it.

I've been looking on Halfords at Thule stuff and they don't seem to know what a 306 even is.

Thule System roofbars comprise three separate components:

  • the bars themselves (more or less universal),
  • the footpack (a bit more specific, and which Thule refers to as 'The Rapid System' as it tension-clamps everything into place: they used to do a slower wingnut version too), and
  • the fitting kit (custom fitted for the car in question).

When using these bars on 3-door cars, sometimes an extension pack would be needed too.

These boxes seem to be just the fitting kit, which will consist of four rubber pads (contoured with the car's roofline to fit against the bottom of the footpack) and four cranked steel straps (to secure the footpack to the area under the car doorframe, either using screws or just tensioned into place).

These are still current stock items, though are the cheapest bits of the overall Thule kit. Try the Thule UK website as a guide for what else you'd need; but new prices are fairly steep (esp. for shiters) - if you're in no rush, it'll let you know which footpack to look out for on eBay etc. For a Pug 306 (5dr?), you'd be wanting a 754 footpack and a set of 761 bars to go with the 1017 fitting kit.

Halfords are pretty useless with anything 'not on the system' - on my last visit, not one single person in the store even knew what an HT lead was, let alone whether they stocked a set for a Laguna.

I'm somewhat ashamed I gave them so many years of my life.

I very much doubt you're alone! Thanks for the above, more or less as I had guessed with bars, footpack and fitting kit all needed. I shall continue to keep my eyes peeled on eBay.

A pair of sturdy old ramps, £5. They are good but will suit a shiter with older rammel really i.e. narrow tyres together with reasonable ground clearance. The 195s on my Cavalier are a tight fit and I damaged the Mazda's front bumper on the ramp edges.

They are heavy old things and well made though. Collection from Beckenham, SE London.

May I get in line for these too?

Anyone able to bring a car down from Stoke on Trent for me, and then take the diesel Clio up to Barmatt for me? I believe he lives in Norfolk...

Both cars are road legal etc

Fuel and beer tokens available if so?

Yup, although you'll be third in line!  Probably an idea to get a decent used set off ebay or twattree.  I got a wider pair for a tenner off ebay, hence why I'm selling these.

I've got a big car battery code 019 from my XC90, to give away. Replaced it with a new one, thinking it was on the way out, but new battery made no difference to starting so I think the old battery is probably good for a while yet.

Also free, a 12" mini wheel with a crossply tyre but plenty of tread.

Free. Collection from Lingfield, Surrey

If you are having to crank lots abd it's a D5 have an injector leak off test done as they are prone to failure and cause the fuel pressure to drop too low to start.

These are all used, generally a bit battered and faded covers due to age.  £2 plus postage sound fair?

Austin MiniMetro Optional Equipment Booklet.

Inner pages water damaged sadly, but could still fill that annoying empty spot in the document wallet.  Postage only.

Mk IV(?) Early 90s Ford Escort Owner's Handbook.

Matching Ford Audio brochure - this one however *has badly* fallen foul to the felt tips.  FOC.  Figure it might still be useful from the perspective of having all the handbooks laid out at a show or something like that.

I'm sure there are some others in there (which I think I got hold of after the age of 5 so didn't draw all over!) which I'll add later on.

I'm impressed that air conditioning was an option on early 1980s Metros!  I think there were quite a few options on them, including electric windows and central locking, which could be added to any trim level, so pretty bizarre equipment combinations were possible.

Anyone interested in this Avtoexport 28 page brochure? It's full of Soviet automotive goodness, and I'd like it to go free (other than postage) to someone who really wants it rather than really wants to put it on eBay.

When I was young and foolish I jointly purchased a load of old motorcycle parts from a company called Satra Motors. I'm lying, there were 5 loads, 40ft artic ones at that. It's all long gone from me, thank fuck, but I sometimes come across remnants and here are some Russian made drawings and pictures. They're nicely done in an old fashioned way, anyone want a set of them for postage pm me.

Still plenty left, found an extra Ural 650 photo to add.
