Are you close to the Irish sea? Cannot say I have ever seen it from where we live although on a clear day you can see Flintshire from Rainhill stoops.

I’m in Huyton near to the Safari Park. I can see Liverpool city centre landmarks and Anfield stadium too.

Perhaps if you jump up and down a bit as there's a bloody great mountain in the way.

Got a message from a mate earlier, sent a picture of a delightful looking Rover 420 HHR in Nightfire red with those 5 spoke alloys they came in that he'd spotted

Looked like an absolute peach, and the private plate on it suggested its quite well loved

Is it bad that I'm the person that someone sends a picture to, after getting excited on my behalf only for spotting a nice Rover out in the wild? 😂😂

I swept a chimney today.

I might write elsewhere how I'm making some pretty chunky changes to life in a bid to find true, unabated contentment.  Part of this is increasing self reliance, so I thought I'd give it a go.  The National Association of Chimney Sweeps will claim I'm putting lives at risk, but their members charge £100 for what took me 20 minutes (rarely used chimney) and have a vested interest.

I have to say, I really enjoyed it!  Borrowed a set of rods from a neighbour, the brush was conveniently the perfect size and I didn't end proceedings looking like a Golliwog either.  Managed to dislodge a sensible amount of soot, and a few twigs from the circling Jackdaws.

Next job is to get a little man up on the roof to fit the cap I was gifted by another neighbour.

Final Score: Daniel 1 - 0 Consumerism.

Have been sweeping own chimney for years, in several houses. Always gives a real sense of satisfaction. Especially if you happen to get a whole birds nest and dead bird down like i managed once, that would have ben a bad day had the fire been lit.

None - both pictures are the Luggie😁

Nearest canal is Forth and Clyde, about 0.5km from where the pictures were taken

I'm guessing Bancontact only?  I lived in Belgium for just over a year and it was a pain in the arse to try and pay for anything without one of these.

Sorted

That is why I was confused! I thought maybe it was one of the small sections of the Inverurie canal that still remains, but could not remember a section that long or that full of water!

There's one with the hat trick near me, all on the same site

Used tyres

Barbers, 4 chairs, never anybody in there and a car wash which looks like it's getting a 50k refurbishment at the moment

Abarth really are scraping the bottom of the barrel nowadays, trying in more and more half-arsed ways to drag a few more years out of the ancient design.

I thought they'd reached nearly the bottom of it 8 years ago when I bought my "Abarth 595 Yamaha Racing special edition" which basically had a yamaha sticker and an incredibly loud exhaust on.

I don't think I've ever actually belly laughed at a picture of a new car before this:

Fucking pea shooters 🤣 Looks like a giffer mod done by someone with 4 of those chrome tailpipe trims you could get from motorworld.

I got to drive two USDM cars yesterday. A 1996 Ford Aspire and a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis. Still buzzing!

The Mercury was the car I really wanted to drive. It rocks when you blip the throttle! Nor does it seem monstrously big but that’s maybe because it’s on a big American driveway. It doesn’t seem particularly fast but it’s hugely characterful.  It wonders quite a bit even at low speeds but corners relatively flat. It seems inconsistent. Sometimes floaty, sometimes not. It rides pretty well but shudders still get through to your bum at times.

The Aspire drives like filth by comparison. Any attempt to go round a corners above parking speeds and the steering goes horribly heavy. A real set in concrete feel.  Something is very wrong in the sensors somewhere as it starts to die the second you put any load on it.  The manual gearbox was fine. About the only good thing about it. It was hard work to drive. It felt as if it had to be manhandled everywhere.

Loved every minute of it!

Also the remains of what I think is a 40s Chevrolet upside down in a wood.
