I was behind a BMW 116D this morning and the owner has put a generic Halfords "M" in front of the 116. Not sure it would fool anyone.

Why wouldn’t it? The factory fitted ones fool enough people into thinking they’ve got something special.

It made me smile 😁

Edited. Seriously. The 1500 triumph engine is quite long stroke, compared to the 1300, so 6K is very brave.

I'm surprised the 30 sign didn't move.

Does that make the speed limit down the drive NSL ?

Road to the left of the image is on a 40 limit - next junction along there has a 30 sign up on Google Street Spy not sure what the development in the image has - there's nothing on Google  but it also looks like it's not fully adopted yet. I'm guessing the developer's will chuck up a new 30 sign (or move that one) once it's fully adopted - the South Holland council planning portal has no mapping facility and I can't find the full application on a cursory search to see what the plans say re traffic orders.

It's Atherton Gardens in Pinchbeck - been driving past it (on and off) for 10 - 15 years and it used to be a giant puddle in the winter (with geese) and a summer crop of whatever cash crop was flavour of the month.

Thanks for the advice, the handbook does say that the maximum recommended engine speed (intermittent) is 6K, with a continuous maximum recommended engine speed of 5.5K.

However, the car is forty three years old and I'll temper my enthusiasm from now on.

It did sound quite lovely in that moment though.

They're bastards those things, they make me glad for the ones we have here in the UK. I was covered in the bastards when I was staying near Nice, and got attacked by them again in Italy this year - I remember one service station where they literally swarmed you as soon as you got out the car.

Not even the Dutch with all the water they have to cope with would do something like that.  I suppose it is in keeping with Sunpak's new build and not pollute water plan.

That's what the fuses will do in 5 years time :)

Posted

I have dozens of fuses of all values here, all recovered from the plugs of broken appliances.

Also car fuses, bought to be prepared.  The only one I have fitted I had to buy specially, a 40A Maxi fuse for the electric seats I put in the C5.  Never used any of the others.  I can't recall ever having to fit a fuse in a car.  Rarely at home either.  The only one in recent years was to my daughter's washing machine about three months ago.

Holy fuck 🤣🤣 - I counted 155g on the outside and 95g on the inside

Rebalanced, it still needed 65g and 30g respectively which is fairly high but it certainly sorted it 🤣

Watched a rather obscure British film called for queen and country.

Somewhat surreal seeing Denzel Washington driving a marina.

Got a hand delivered letter yesterday. From the owner of the next door neighbour of house we back on to 20230903_135136.thumb.jpg.8e2c61246c057bf3844b4b1c310dae5b.jpg

I've been wanting to go around and say something. For about 5 years. 20230903_135158.thumb.jpg.b4f20c16c4057359a9cd4d0270f8c5df.jpg20230903_164350.thumb.jpg.921146056809251646f99145a5dc4e3b.jpg

THat still leaves the much smaller pivet next door, owned by Tony the Stoner

and the just about too big "Hedge"  in his front garden. Which my wife is now stressing about. I'm to go and ask him.if I can take the top 4 foot off it.

Not sure how to approach that one. He's a total knob, whose paranoia and drug taking is only surpassed by his intransigent nature and absolute laziness. I offered to mow his lawn once whilst I had my mower out. But got verbal abuse for offering.
