I feel rested. Fell asleep at 7:00, woke up at 10:00, took the dogs out, went back to sleep and woke at 5:30. This amount of sleep is unheard of for me and for the dogs to get an extra walk at 6:00 in the morning cheered them up as well. However, tired again now and the weather is hsit (no 'E') so an afternoon nap may be in order... the joys of being old :)

One of my neighbours took my bin to the end of the quite long drive, I totally forgot it was bin day and it's full.

Just scored a set of winter tyres that will fit my lads Midget for a massive 99p. They are also 155/80/13's so will hopefully up the gearing a little from the 145's that are on there. It probably has the wrong diff in it as even my 204 sounds less strained at 60 than the poor MG.

Get that (wo)man a bottle of beer.

We forgot ours recently and had a bin full of disposable nappies.  If that's not something to encourage parents to reusables, I don't know what is..

Started the ST for the first time in a couple of weeks. Battery struggled a bit but then started OK.

Weird scrapping noise started just behind where it's been hit. Thought it might be the belt catching or something worse, moved some stuff

Doh! Plug for the lights needed moving. No noise now.

Got the final word from the insurance today as well. £2200 was their final offer which isn't too bad.

Got the cost of retention too.....

£167! I was expecting at least triple that. The damage is very small and I've already got most of the parts.

I was pleased at remembering to put my recycling bin out last week, and even more pleased when I took it in when I got in from work. what I was less pleased about was that I'd somehow managed not to notice the thing hadn't been emptied - what a plum :(

From memory the 1500s came with either a 3.7 or 3.9 & the choice does make a difference. Not sure on the earlier ones.

No chance of getting O/D in them?

I forgot to take my bin months ago when I'd gone to work, my bin miraculously got emptied and returned back to its space before I finished, for a few weeks it got returned to its space after it had been emptied when I was at work, I didn't know who was doing it, by chance a day I was in I heard the bins rumbling so I spied my chance to see, it was my neighbour I startled her by shouting thank you from my upstairs window, I also return hers when I see her cars not in

Our bin men are ace and have taken out and put back our bin when I have forgotten in the past.

Just to show how good they are we had a different crew round earlier this week and they left a few bins as they were too full and there was rubbish everywhere when they had finished!

03 Octavia 1.8 turbo with 35k on the clock. Bloody hell....it goes like a stabbed rat!!!

Mappable for another 30bhp or so too IIRC.

All you need is a laptop and a wire off ebay. 320_Touring is your new friend, others have done it too.

This place.

Despite the grumblings and rumblings about 'the craphouse' and moanings etc, this place is still great. Thanks to all and to Daveb47. Just saying like..

Nope, BCA at Brighouse. Is the Morley one still going? Used to buy four or five a week out of there in the nineties....proper budget end stuff!

No idea - the last time I was out at Morley was 2008/9, haven't been since (or to any auction, for that matter - this is summat that needs remedying.)

This one should have a 3.7 but the early 1275's had a much higher one  4.2 or something. I suspect it has been swapped at some point as the 3.7's make almost as much as I paid for the whole car. I think overdrive is possible but means cutting the transmission tunnel about which is more hassle than it is worth.

Saw this in the Daily Fail, it's that bloke who was shot on the M62 the other day.

Couldn't they have found a slightly better framed one - or did he actually have a plant on his head?

Don't tell me things like this! I'm already mightily tempted to tax it and run it myself for a bit....what I like is the fact that at first glance, it just looks like a giffer spec special. A bit of de-badging and some suitably well-shod steelies and there could be all sorts of fun to be had. Mmmm.

The sun was out for 0.0000005643 minutes today, I saw it.

So I'm off to gov.uk right now TO TAX THE CJ!!!!1!!!!1!

We've got a 90 year old neighbour next door who brings our bin in every week in all weathers, through the gate and up the path and parks it neatly.

I say neighbour, he lives about 200 metres away, he does a couple of other houses too, he has quite a range

There's some thick twats on FB, I've found myself on some group call roast my selfie, it's a real eyeopener. It's like Jeremy Kyle in digital format full of the dregs of society. The night before last there was apparently a live sex show and sickeningly there was a live show last night with a man pleasuring his dog before hitting it! Not that i've actually seen any of this but the whole group is like a massive car crash, I've never seen anything like it.

I now have an inhaler and an apointment to see some bugger who is going to test my breathing. Was offered x-rays and all sorts but declined as I am not a fan of hospitals and anyway, they might tell me I'm ill!

I wanted an inhaler when I was in school as they always seemed to belong to the 'cool kids' it's only taken several decades but I've finally got one, trendy blue thing as well.

Just had the call to say my morgtage has been approved,(subject to valuation) planning premesion has also been granted on the Dr's surgery we're buying so we can actually turn it into a bungalow and I'll be paying off nearly 20k debt from the sale of our house! saving me over £350 a month!

Buying and selling is stressful- but that's one fro the grump thread maybe!

I'm bouncing off the walls waiting for this appointment with Deliveroo I have tomorrow. Today should be a good day too as the post might see me have all the bits lying around to fix my keyboard and maybe have a pair of bike wheels I'm waiting for show up as well.

My parents seem to be pleased or something as they've started treating me like an adult (so in other words they're sick of me), and I feel a hell of a lot better for it.

This has one very big upside, and it appears to be that they've dropped all their objections to me having a car.

Man, I feel good.

Please refer to the grumpy thread if you're wondering how my day went. There's hope yet but I won't be starting (or indeed getting a car) quite as soon as I'd hoped.

I didn't know you had to cut the tunnel on those, I've only experience of the 1500 & that can be modified enough with a lump hammer.
