One of my neighbours took my bin to the end of the quite long drive, I totally forgot it was bin day and it's full.

We've got a 90 year old neighbour next door who brings our bin in every week in all weathers, through the gate and up the path and parks it neatly.

I say neighbour, he lives about 200 metres away, he does a couple of other houses too, he has quite a range

Facebook Motors ( North Wales) and someone has made a 200 mile round trip to buy an Astra, and the vendor changed his mind:

There's some thick twats on FB, I've found myself on some group call roast my selfie, it's a real eyeopener. It's like Jeremy Kyle in digital format full of the dregs of society. The night before last there was apparently a live sex show and sickeningly there was a live show last night with a man pleasuring his dog before hitting it! Not that i've actually seen any of this but the whole group is like a massive car crash, I've never seen anything like it.

I now have an inhaler and an apointment to see some bugger who is going to test my breathing. Was offered x-rays and all sorts but declined as I am not a fan of hospitals and anyway, they might tell me I'm ill!

I wanted an inhaler when I was in school as they always seemed to belong to the 'cool kids' it's only taken several decades but I've finally got one, trendy blue thing as well.

Just had the call to say my morgtage has been approved,(subject to valuation) planning premesion has also been granted on the Dr's surgery we're buying so we can actually turn it into a bungalow and I'll be paying off nearly 20k debt from the sale of our house! saving me over £350 a month!

Buying and selling is stressful- but that's one fro the grump thread maybe!

I'm bouncing off the walls waiting for this appointment with Deliveroo I have tomorrow. Today should be a good day too as the post might see me have all the bits lying around to fix my keyboard and maybe have a pair of bike wheels I'm waiting for show up as well.

My parents seem to be pleased or something as they've started treating me like an adult (so in other words they're sick of me), and I feel a hell of a lot better for it.

This has one very big upside, and it appears to be that they've dropped all their objections to me having a car.

Man, I feel good.

Please refer to the grumpy thread if you're wondering how my day went. There's hope yet but I won't be starting (or indeed getting a car) quite as soon as I'd hoped.

This one should have a 3.7 but the early 1275's had a much higher one  4.2 or something. I suspect it has been swapped at some point as the 3.7's make almost as much as I paid for the whole car. I think overdrive is possible but means cutting the transmission tunnel about which is more hassle than it is worth.

I didn't know you had to cut the tunnel on those, I've only experience of the 1500 & that can be modified enough with a lump hammer.

The most AS thing I've seen this year so far: the "Let's offroad!"-mobile is jumping the BMW.

I was doing some work in the halls of residence earlier, and somebody had re-arranged the lettering on the fridge into an inspirational* message.

More cars should have the amount of wrestlers that they can comfortably convey mentioned clearly and boldly in the advertising.

Go on then who's stalking me?? I am being stalked by shite The other night me and mrs fp went out for tea at a pub and a short while in we saw this pull on as we were by the window, it got us both looking like meerkats as it passed the window to park, it looked pretty good condition and it was a quirky little thing

(Mrs fp papped the pic as I didn't have my phone)

I had asthma as a child, fairly bad but it seemed to "go away" when I was about 15 so I stopped getting inhalers and stuff

I still get a spell of it about once every couple of years so I keep an inhaler about the place (£7 off the internet, saves fucking about registering with a GP etc)

The feeling of not being able to breath all that well and then copping a lungful of inhaler and withing seconds being OK is absolutely the best feeling in the world, honestly hats off to whoever worked out inhalers, theyre amazing.

According to teh internetz, Salbutamol was discovered in 1966 by the Allen and Hanburys laboratory in Ware, Hertfordshire, and was launched as Ventolin in 1969.

However, the actual inhaler was first developed in 1955 by Riker Laboratories in, um, somewhere in Merkinland probably. Which begs the question, what the hell were they using it to inhale during the intervening 14 years???

Posted

My docs just took me off Ventolin, because it's difficult to administer. Yeah, only 30 years of using it and I still haven't got it right???

My wife has asthma and has been on inhalers for years, 3 years ago she took up yoga and Pilates and her breathing is 90% better.

She probably uses an inhaler 4 or 5 times a year now

Today I picked up this xk8 from a customer to fit a recon abs pump.

I left him a suitable courtesy car of course

A couple of times when I've been to Tesco in the Innocenti I've seen people trying to drive into the space where it's parked because it's so much smaller than anything else that it pretty much disappears.
