That is fantastic. Is it a hobby garage or an 'earn a living' garage? Either way I am well jel. Looks like a nice part of the world too, what region is it?

Took the Yaris and Daughter out for a drive around earlier, the roads were pretty quiet and I wanted to give the Yaris an Italian tune-up in advance of its MOT next week. We had a lovely drive up the A32, across to Winchester on the A272 then back on smaller roads north of Bishops Waltham. All in all I was out for about an hour, never exceeded 70mph but had a brilliant time doing it. There are some roads up that way which are excellent to drive (for the south of England) and no surprise they are full of bikers in the summer.

The Yaris is a pretty decent performer too, there was plenty enough power for the car and conditions and it really flies above 3500rpm. Not quite as good as the old Almera which i knew better so could drive it harder, but not bad at all. It'd have been nothing like as enjoyable in the Saab as its a bit big for the roads round there and can't be driven as hard without feeling like you'll imminently lose control and die. It also needs to be going a lot faster to feel like you're making progress. 60mph in 3rd in the Yaris feels like 90.

Even my daughter enjoyed it, well, until she fell asleep anyway. It was nice to be out driving just for the sake of it, it very rare I get to do that and not have anything I need to be back for, or do while I'm out.

I don't usually post up parked spots but the excitement has overtook me, I took a wrong turn while out with work earlier and travelled down the road this was parked on, seeing it made my day

Vulgalour will be happy

Apparently Ms_Chegg has treated us to a holiday sailing around the Western Isles on a 100 year-old gaffer, interspersed with guided walks. The girl's a keeper.

After 4 Atlantic circuits and 3 Fastnets I should cope, and Sandra seems to have a cast-iron constitution :-)

I am no salty sea dog by any stretch but my limited travels around the western isles were amazing and vomit inducing in equal measure. The currents and swells seem to have a life of their own (I guess due to the number of small islands) but I can't think of a more beautiful place to be and we are heading back next Easter although sea travel will be limited to ferries and perhaps a day trip or two.

It's an amazing area to navigate around as the tides are amazing. I've sailed through the area a few times but never island-hopped so I'm really looking forward to it.

Hopefully the temperature will creep into double figures as we're there in May

Is Bill Maynard still around?

Yes but I don't think he's even 90 yet

There are some great roads down here for just driving around.

I usually take my oldies out that way just for a drive around. I normally go up the A3 and then take the A272 from the Petersfield Industrial turn off then just keep going all the way across towards Winchester then home via the M3/M27.

There's some similar good roads out the back around Chichester and Goodwood too...

Sitting watching stars in their cars with Pady Mcguinness floating around in a Triumph with Alexei Sayle.

She fell asleep on the sofa, I've just sent her to bed and cracked the quality street out... I'll poke her in the back when I go to bed and see what happens...

Save the Quality Street to go with the Lucozade for when you're in traction.

Just hobbying and storing my collection of shite. We will be fitting it out as a bungalow first though and living in it while I work on the house. It's a derelict water mill and will take a while.

How big is the footprint of the house?

Can't remember exactly, but we're putting a new extension on the front that's 10m x 6m, so I'd guess about 150 sq m.

Planning and building warrant have been more of a grump than a grin including a 9 month delay due to a rare* pipestrelle being seen in the vicinity.
