I would provoke some and probably a lifetime ban if I posted my initial response.

So Google helped.

A bit back I bought an ugga-dugga from aliexpress, that's not remotely trying to pretend to be a makita. It's reassuringly heavy so felt like it could be useful. But when you give it a stubborn wheel nut it goes Brrrrrrrrr then stops. I quickly realised the battery is seeing a huge load and is shutting itself down. Bugger.

I read the description again, and it says same fitting as genuine makita batteries. Which I haven't got. Hmmm. To the lateral thinking mobile! A quick purchase from aliexpress (you never learn do you) and I have 20 volt lidl battery power!

It now ugga-dugga's away continuously until you break the socket or it comes loose. Probably several degrees of dangerous, but who cares?

I bought my extremely cheap Speed Trip before Covid but never really got it working reliably (my previous bike was a Honda from the golden age of utter reliable Japanese vehicles). It had an annoying habit of randomly not starting culminating in it actually breaking down whilst riding home from work. To top it all someone knocked it over in the car park opposite my house and cracked the rear light and seat unit.

I repaired the seat unit and found the unobtainium light on AliExpress. But it didn’t start or run so I thought I’d investigate. A bit of ghetto wiring later and a boost from a big battery and it seems to work fine. Btw this is a temporary setup to test it, I’ll rewire it properly before it goes back together.

I haz purchased a load of old toot  quality used parts from zee wheelbarrow day.

I asked man if there's going to be more and he thinks maybe one on a week day next week and then easterish.

I haz slight dissapoint as only got 7 speedos as only 7 new citybugs in last month and I'd cleared them out totally last time.

Presumably you got them because they’re in demand, do they break a lot?

Leds die on them. I ebay working ones with the mileage changed to the cars original miles. I haven't checked the ones I got yet but expect 1 or 2 to need fixing.
