Lad came to the door. Spoke ZERO English. It's five to ten at night.

*Silence and nodding gestures *

"Bonnet?"

"Yes"

"Over there bud". *Points to the corner of the garden*.

*Walks off with the bonnet ON HIS HEAD*.

THIS IS MY LIFE, FOLKS.

To tidy up last nights grump about our gas packing up, the gas board has just been round and fitted a new meter, we've got hot water and heating again 🥵. Can't grumble at the service really, but I will, advised between 11am - 3pm, turned up at 930pm, after several were the fuck are you calls from us. Lovely fella that turned up but fuck my old boots I've been sooooo cold 🥶.

I ordered a chippy because by the time I had cash today there was no way of me getting actual food from a shop.

Jumbo haggis supper for the same price as a normal haggis supper for some reason, plus a quid for what seemed to be an entire bag of cheese dumped on the chips. Then a couple of pickled eggs and a deep fried mars bar to make it up to the delivery threshold.

Considering I've been eating budget ready meals all week (except Christmas day and eve, when I had big lunches and that was all I ate those days) this is a welcome feeling of a full belly.

When the gas main was renewed in our close last winter, their guy fucked up the test nipple on our meter. Poor sod who eventually turned up to replace the meter had driven 60 odd miles east to get to us. Fortunately his last call, but he then had to drive 80 miles west to get home, at 10pm. He loved the overtime though, apparently.

The chap that came round was later than expected due to a problem job earlier, then picked up another job to do after ours, poor bugger was in for a long night.

Should have taken a pic of his 64 plate caddy van for the older working vehicle thread.

That's not bad, it'd cost about that for just the pizza from anywhere that delivers to me. Then somewhere around a fiver for delivery because middle of nowhere.

There's a couple of places with more sensible delivery fees but not only do they have a higher minimum their food is more expensive.

A few weeks ago I ordered from a local italian place. £2 delivery fee... but I spent over £30 because I basically had a three course meal. It was definitely more food than I needed, probably more than is sensible too. The profiteroles were fucking delicious though.

Yes thanks, just had a lovely soak in the bath, piping hot, with me rubber duck & loads of bubbles.

Really needed it as I'd been out in the cold this afternoon, fighting drop links on our Elgrand. In the words of Murtaugh, 'I'm getting too old for this shit'.

watching tesla bjorn and hes on a mini roadtrip with the boss and the kids

boss is driving but when they were farting with the screen (fkin tesla) they put it into valet mode - which means some features you cant use

it was asking for a pin - its rented :D

so he was like hah? (watch his videos :D )

and started kicking off but then tried end of vin reg plate

then starts talking about 0000 1111 etc

he rings the place for help and they suggest what he already did

the only number he didnt try???

1234 :D

thats a bit shit tho from the rental place - as he found out while looking in the screen - you couldnt get into the boot at the front - thats not funny say if theyd put important kiddy shit there etc

I mean, I've only ever seen Tesla vehicles being driven around.

They aren't the prettiest cars, especially the bigger ones that look like an overinflated computer mouse.

The Cybertruck is just.. big and offensive to the old retinas.

It's misproportioned from pretty much every angle.

The main certification failure I think is for pedestrian safety. The lighting all seems fairly sane on it, the one I followed was fine.

After market back box tip scrapping the tarmac on bumps. Fully loaded today with four big buggers tools and a load of luggage. First time its showered sparks on the motorway. Should cut it down really though it seems to be slowly sorting itself out.  Tow bar only decks out on speed bumps, drop curbs and occasional back lanes.

Makes me grin because A i am a child and B the rear beam is still lapping up abuse.
