Always one of best bits about coming home.

Just been to waitrose bagshot in the x1/9 for the first time with the Toyo tyres. Squealed round every corner at walking pace - like a very slow Kojak chase.

Taking a gas fire out for a mate who likes his Americana and he had this in his garage. Not my thing at all but this looked mint.

From today's bike ride... driver had appeared to have tried to make a right turn from the left fork of a triangle, not quite made the turn then his wheels just spin out when trying to reverse. He was spotted putting sheets of timber from his load under the wheels to improve adhesion. A happy ending though as he overtook me 20 minutes or so later 😎

Not shown: long queues of traffic from all directions

if that's a delta shaped junction (I don't know the proper name for them) then he's using it wrong!

I’ve been to oxford to meet the family for my dad’s 80th this weekend- he’s happy they made a bank holiday for him.
Hit 75 mph in the 2cv on the a34 according to the gps. Gravity assisted as you do need to charge the hills to keep the momentum going.
as the saying goes, nothing left on the clock but the makers mark!

filled up on the way home too - 48mpg over the last 200miles on Esso e5.

"Burglarizing"

The whole thing is horribly written.

Little things:

1. Driving home tonight and followed a D-reg Mitsubishi Starion widebody that I haven't seen around before.

2. Bit later on the same journey and for the second time this week, seeing a tidy, modified Daihatsu Sirion, lowered and on fat, older style alloys.

3. Watching Location, Location, Location from Edinburgh and one of the first cars seen being a Volvo estate.

You need a lie-down.

Topped up the washer fluid?

Well, I'll speak for myself because that's my idea of a car job that I've been meaning to do for a couple of weeks 🤣

Don't ask what's been on the list for a couple of months/years 😆

Went up to London yesterday to go to a trade show.  Haven't been up there since before Covid.  Slightly worried about the train being overcrowded based on previous experience but got on the Thameslink and I was the only person in the carriage.  This is at 0830.  That was nice.

Also bumped into some of our customers that were at another trade show next door to the one I was at.  Given that the firm I work for (and most of our customers) are in Cheltenham and Gloucester and I live near Canterbury, it made me laugh and it was nice to see them.

Going up to the show again today.

Swapped wheels over and adjusted electrical cutoff cable so it now works. Not much but I was happy about it. I had just enough time to do it before it got too dark

I don't know if anyone remembers when Amazon launched their Garage shopping list idea, with many many dirt cheap parts on offer.

I bought a load of  rs2000 4x4 specific parts using that offer, most of which went with the car I sold it 7 years ago.

I kept the new radiator which cost less than a tenner, just in case I ever bought another 4x4 Escort.

I've just found it tucked away in a corner of a Bulgarian barn..
