What do you do with a 1500quid snotter that has done 163k miles and has a lot of potential to go bang?

Naturally to do what @sierraman would recommend and spend £700 on new springs, shocks and arms for the rear end on a 20yr old premium German car.

Not sure I can feel much difference to be honest 😂

Rear end definitely higher though.

BMW E9x 3-series are prone to rotting out the rear top mounts as they age and ejecting through into the boot. It was the garage that recommended at the last MOT to have the changed. The rest were "while you are there jobs" I said might as well get done....

But I still like the car, does everything I want in a car and in a few months will have had it for 2 years. So why not put two months of a nominal car payment into it and make it drive better? Also apparently the garage had a lot of fun* with usual issues of seized bolts and certainly a job I wouldn't want to do on my drive.

I think this was the peak of Bmw's production era for me, anything after just doesn't to be interesting enough....

After the E36 and E39, they have been systematically cheapened, while BMW have tried to keep up the pretence that they are above average in quality.
