I saw a group of scooterists about this morning on their way towards ascot.

I doubt they were the same lot. This was just off j24 M1 and was a bunch of old chaps...

Seriously old. They had to start one old bugger's bike and help him back on to it.

The 'tin tabernacle' churches were available as kits from a number of manufacturers (along with a whole range of other buildings) like Bolton & Paul and Humphreys'.

Quite a few survive in-situ and some have Listed status. Houses could be purchased the same way too.

saw that and it reminded me of this

only one in ireland apparently (as a chorch anyway)

we photoed it for a rally and cousin got married in it in 18

didnt think it was old but saw the date on your ad and theirs is nearly as old

Fucksake. When 8 said this car needs new tyres, I didn’t mean by the means of driving a huge screw through one of them. Thankfully, it was a slow leak so I limped it to the gas station as (original to the car and never used) spare was on 0.2 bar.

As I was finishing up, two girls with a tyre valve that came flying out when they tried to inflate the tyre drove in, so I swapped their tyre to spare as well. Got a heartfelt thank you and an offer of an ice cream from the shop. 😄

The Norwegian sailor's church in Cardiff dates back to 1868, although it's had a belfry and extensions added. It's also been moved to a different site on Cardiff Bay. Roald Dahl was baptized there. It's an arts centre now.

Spent most of today - and a good chunk of yesterday - fitting these -

20250420_193048.jpg.c6baa2fa1ece4f5ef56167453df2b2c6.jpg

Took longer than anticipated because I saved the old hinges (surprised how expensive these are nowadays) - a flap disc and hammerite soon had them looking much better so I had to wait for them to dry ( I was doing a sunday roast inbetween) plus the hinges are screwed to 1/8" thick box section - I had to reposition the hinges and drill brand new holes.

The old ones were thoroughly rotten but they lasted 22 years. It crossed my mind these gates may outlast me if they last 22 years.

Went for a walk locally with the kids tonight. From a distance I spied an unusual looking vehicle in the distance a couple of fields over from the path we were on. So I returned home, got the kids into bed, and the ever willing MrsB said… “go on, go and see what it was…”

Knowing a path which should take me closer I went to take a look…

What’s that coming over the hill is it a Monster?

No, but it is an Elswick fucking Envoy!!

Couldn’t get massively close without trespassing into the sheep field. Anything other than the front shot were taken by me scrambling through woodland to get a better angle! I think my spot of the year!

hah! that is quite the find to find randomly in the middle of a field! needs saving, I dont keep track of Envoy's closely they are a couple clicks outside of my Invacar wheelhouse, but DDU528Y sounds familiar, I feel its been talked about somewhere, either on here, somewhere on facebook?, I think its a pretty early one on a Y suffix plate, needs saving for sure if it has just been abandoned there :)

Tin house near Tarbrax, was lived in in the early 90s.

There used to be another tin house not far from this one but it has collapsed.

Just watched coverage of the Pope’s Easter service in Rome. He left in the Popemobile absolutely swarming with security. I doubt if Trump would have had as many.

Could help think he hasn't got much faith in God keeping him safe. ( not as if he’s got long any way).

The presidents security details is enormous. However it's a lot more discreet in its nature. Snipers on roof tops, plain clothes security staff all around and massive amounts of scouting before a president even visits. Usually the area is in complete lockdown for a time before.

Anyone remember when Obama came to visit Wales?

God won’t intervene with what us idiot humans do on earth. He gave us free will, hence the security need.
