artdjones
I never realized that the Fluence ZE was intended for battery swapping. If the lease cost can equate to 36mpg I'm surprised they sold any.The 1.5dci 110 eco equivalent averages 53-58 mpg and a full tank gives a range of 6-700 miles. xtriple
In Halfords yesterday I was looking at bicycles ( I do odd things sometimes) and they had several different versions of electric bikes - £8 - £900 though which I thought was a lot for an old upright bicycle with a battery on the back. It's entirely this; because of the shitty lease deal Fluences are about as attractive as a dose of Ebola, whereas if Renault released the batteries from the lease deals(they are well beyond the pay back period anyway and are deep into Kerching! territory) or if they must have a further suck on the teat sell them on a pro-rata depreciation basis, then Fluences would become solid gold electroshite. There's also the issue that you would be waiting until after the heat death of the universe before Renault UK responded to to a warranty claim for a replacement battery. tooSavvy and egg
