Thank goodness for full-size spares with your pothole mishap.  Can of goo wouldn't have helped you at all with that.

Indeed. As it was the only annoyance was decanting a mostly full boot, but nothing in comparison to an undoubted wait for recovery in a modern...

The ex Beep Fiat Punto 60S brought by my brother last year, has just past it's Mot again.

punto geek mk1 mode: Thats an early reg 60s - i noticed the wheel trims first, i assumed all P reg's were 55 S's with the earler 'swirly' wheel trims then the 60 came out on an R plate.

Well today I had the pleasure of driving a 69 plate 208 pug, and it was terrible, u need feet size 3, why is the analogue and digital speedo, rear seats are only fit children and midgets, what's the sos button for?, gear change vacant, steering light and fast no feedback, redeeming feature is dab radio and thank christ a normal handbrake not that infuriating electric one...

SOS button  is for if you run out of talent and crash it, which, judging by that OSR quarter - someone already did.

Terrible picture due to darkness!
Staying in the AS fold though...

On my way home via Wolverhampton so I could collect a new driver's door.  Bit last minute so handy the bloke was available.  RONG colour but it'll do.

Currently assaulting my insides with a McDonalds, and then back home to TT London.

Saab drives very well and it's nice to be back in a barge like waftomatic.  As usual it was a pleasure meeting up with Mr and Mrs brownnova.  Cheers m8s!

See also Citroens going around corners faster than the tailgating wanker behind them is anticipating for much lols.

Absolutely my favourite game with the Activa.

Nothing like chucking it into a roundabout "at speed" and watching the Impreza WRX behind you panic as they find themselves understanding towards the island.  They just don't expect a scruffy 90s Citroen to be able to change direction faster than they can.

My welder has looked like this the whole time I've had it (hand-me-down from a friend who bought a new one).

The side cover was delivered a few weeks after I got the welder, but was then immediately misplaced.  I'd not consciously seen it since at least three houses ago.

Until this surfaced when I was looking for something else a couple of days ago.

This makes my OCD unreasonably happy.

One year (and a bit) ago, this glorious little thing was a roffle win for me on my 50th birthday! It’s now about to be pressed into service.

I think part of the Jag's idling issues may have stemmed from the fact the carpet and floor mat was jamming the throttle, along with the extra carpet and underlay (?!) on top of it.
Also, the lower mats were ridiculously damp, presumably the carpet wasn't letting it air properly. It explains why the car gets so damp inside, as I don't think it's leaking from anywhere. It's not the windscreen anyway.

I've been thinking a bit lately too about how it fits into my life, and if all goes to plan, in summer I might see about trading it for something else.
Something equal parts stupid and sensible, a modern classic and a touring car legend...

And then some. Needs to be a specific colour though, and this is the one thing I'd not have mine back for...

Every now and then a person who was in the public eye for one reason, suddenly appears doing something completely different.

Like that bird off Coronation Street wearing an of the shoulder number in Parliament.

Here's another one.

Travel reporting suddenly got very abstract and possibly quite dark.

It's right what they say, there is more older cars on road near London than most places. I was at What's left of vauxhall head office for last 2 days on a training course, saw alsorts of 80s and 90s chod driving about. I was sad to see vauxhall site like it is, pretty much totally empty now, only on star there, everything else gone to Coventry, end of an era.

SOS button calls a taxi to get you from the car to the curb.

The 206cc has developed a misfire again.Bought a cheap coil pack off ebay three months ago.I've just asked at the local factors and it was less than half price of a Motorquip one never mind NGK. Going to try a new set of plugs first. Although the old adage  buy cheap buy twice springs to mind.

Oi Give it back, I need that for tomorrow! (wait until you have something set on the sat nav, and then the digital speedo inexplicably fucks off!)

I bought a new laptop a couple days ago and it just dawned on me that it was almost double what I paid for my Corolla.

The worst bit is that the car will easily outlive the computer. Sigh.

Looks like the head gasket set for the CX is being delivered after lunchtime...

That was a bit quicker than I thought.

If anyone has a Milllets nearby, they're having a warehouse sale on. Picked up a couple of 360 degree camping lanterns for 3.50 each yesterday - LED, very bright but dimmable, found them very very useful for lighting up under bonnet works. Bargain.

Mostly down to poor servicing then ?

Yesterday my friend Derek was supposed to call round to borrow my jump pack because his adult son had been given an MGF off the road for 18 months by a work college and dad got the job of collecting it! The plan was Derek would inspect the car yesterday so he knew what the car was like, if it would start and where it was situated for collection, then return with a trailer next day. Unfortunately Derek’s carpet fitter took longer than expected and nothing happened yesterday.

Some days don’t go to plan!

Today I got a call from Derek to say could he borrow my jump pack because he wanted to go to the MGF and assess it, I volunteered to go with him in his Citroen C5. When we got there it started up immediately with a fresh battery and while it took a moment for the oil to quiet the tappets it soon ran sweetly. We put a litre of water in it and let it run up to temp while we drunk coffee and all seemed particularly well so I suggested we prebook an MOT close to home 20 miles away and just drove it away.

We got 5 miles and the temp rose dramatically so I stopped in a farm gateway and before I could park it tidily a hose blew off and steam everywhere. We went back to Buckingham and collected my Range Rover and Derek’s trailer and performed the rescue.

I bet that MGF was awful to drive as well, the suspension looks right at its lowest, especially at the back. These things are amazingly good with properly set up hydragas units and absolutely spine shattering when they are flat.
My ex has one and it’s a really fun car to drive.

This one was a bit bumpy but not as hard as the updated MG TF!

incoming....

Just left a £50 deposit on some 90's shite. Not that exciting, but it does have a carb, a choke, 4 speeds and no PAS.

The kind sellers are delivering it to my door Saturday morning.

Possible future roffle fodder ahoy...

Whoever gets the job of replacing it might (not) want to have a look at mine......
