The Oxford made its first Scotoshite tonight

post-17572-0-01937700-1532561721_thumb.jpg

It also earned its supper giving passenger rides to all and sundry!

Most folk seemed to like it, even despite the lack of seatbelts, and diff whine!

Phwaorrr, whose is the legacy?

Flat4 is the custodian of the Legacy.

Another new face who I didn't get to talk to, next month maybe!

Cossie sleeper is great, I have long term plans for similar with a 302 V8 that's currently sat in my garage.  Does anyone know what those wheels are from?

I have completed a major engineering achievement - replacing the exhaust on a MINI.  It took about a month, 'cos of HEAT and LAZINESS.

It was these bolts that were the issue - there are 6 in total and 3 were already sheared off.  Despite an overnight soak in Plusgas the remaining ones immediately snapped when I put a socket on them.  Once I stopped faffing about with shite drill bits and bought some good Erbaur platinum-coated ones it was easy enough to drill and tap them to a larger size.  As I'm only a fair weather spanner twirler I'm often reluctant to buy proper pro-grade tools, but it's a false economy.

Hey that's a good stash innit. What's the goofy looking red & white van?

Very nice evening at the ECR show in Shotley today. Even though I turned up after 8:30 there were still a decent number of cars around, including many new ones which I haven't seen there before. These included the burgundy Mk4 Escort estate featured on the eBay tat thread a couple of weeks ago, a Datsun Laurel (which I mistook for an Oldsmobile due to the front grill) and Trigger's wonderful Marina estate, which is every bit as lovely as it looks in all of his photographs.

As usual, thanks to the organisers for another great meet up, I just wish I had got there sooner to see more. Already looking forward to next month.

Missed this again due to working late.  Next month, next month...

^ ferrari looks so period in that colour. Love the (turin?) plates. It’s a 365 gt4bb at a guess from its period colour/ latterly a 512bb

It was outside my door as I was leaving this afternoon - badge does say 512BB. It’s a lovely colour for it though, far better than red. Car and Classic has them for sale from £250 to £350k.

Thanks again Dome. Arrived today ( with a low range socket set I couldn’t resist ). It’s perfect for what I need.

Good stuff, glad it worked. It's a handy wee thing.

Doblo passed the test with nothing done except tracking.Trakrite is amazing - the sideslip result was almost perfect.

Another night out for the Oxford tonight..

Citroen Owners Club.

Everyone seemed to like it, and I managed to grab this picture.

"Looking back to the Future"

A 1959 car with an (originally) 1955 design in the background..

My lad has managed to fix my knackered old pressure washer that was pissing water out of a crack in the side of the lance. A smidge of metal putty and a jubilee clip fastened FBT.

Usually he just breaks things, perhaps there is hope for the future.

A lad over on FB is learn abouting being a Bus Driver.

This is in the 'manual'

Base in the place.

(Ps - I've told him the answer is to accelerate; thus passing the ball before the child walks into the road)

Posted

It's a ramping points scale depending on how old the child is.  The younger, the more points.

That's how it works, right?

Aim for the ball & try to burst it with a tyre, it takes skill to judge that.

Park on the pavement further up the road on the right and get out the camera. The rest of '1980s Street' may be interesting. Kick the ball up the street.

I wouldn't mind being a bus driver.

Oh, and maybe announce to passengers there will be a short break (if there are any on the bus).

Crane your neck at BASE Sierra and end up mounting the kerb.

Before they replaced the hazard perception test with the CGI rubbish it is now, it was still the original (filmed late 90s) video footage. It was incredibly difficult to focus on the task at hand.

Pic from me a few years back:

9162680142_655d59b996_b.jpg1986 Nissan Sunny Spirit Coupe. by Sam Osbon, on Flickr

It's only done 41k.

Will be viewing this later.

HOWEVER, I have hit a snag. I can't seem to get it insured. No classic policy companies will cover me, and I am not taking out another regular policy.

So, I am going to offer to get it MOT'd for the owner, and help her sell it from there. I obviously have to get her blessing for this, but I am happy to cover MOT costs if it helps her find the Sunny a new home. I will report back later.

M6 north of Preston appears to be open again ...

just had a friends quote of circa 9 hours to do a 70 mile trip on that stretch yesterday .............1230  to 9 15pm    !!

every junction around here was overworked as the displaced traffic headed south down the coast roads ......

The DVLA have now re-enabled the test centre locations feature on the MOT history...

BUT

You have to know/be in possession of the latest V5c number. Seems fair enough I guess.

Oh and the B11 saga has come to an unexpected end. I didn't know the seller had attempted to call me, or that they even had my number...but they've sold it to someone else. I didn't even know there was a 'someone else'.

o well.
