What do you do when you receive news that the entire department you work in will be made redundant in the forthcoming months?

Saving these from a potential ovalling has lifted the spirits (no pun intended), now what to do with them?

 I haven’t got to worry about storing them for a while as the person I bought them from has allowed me to keep them in situ, just trying to figure out whether to put one on the road for a while, sell them on or invest in a top hat...

My first F/T job after school was in the hotel/restaurant trade and my manager sagely told me back then to:

I have a youtube channel but the shite giveaway's are typically promoted through facebook and on retroshite.com where more pics, videos and info can be found as well as a link to buy tickets to any live roffle.

anyway, we carried on and were soon in the salubrious* surroundings of Ayrshire.

 

Shortly after this picture was taken, we encountered a squirrelly back end on the Rexton under braking.

Here's @sdkrc checking the pressures. 9psi difference was resolved and we set off again.

The Rexton is an ideal sports car for roads such as this.

In no time at all* we were in the Jewel of the Scottish West Coast...Largs

As you can see, ideal tourist weather..

Just been to the fiat dealer as the change oil message on the TIPO they were supposed to clear when it was serviced was still there. And they hadn’t stamped the book either. The car has just been sitting on my parents drive since.

no problem, he stamped the service book and took the car into the workshop. 5mins later it’s back, all fixed. Except it wasn’t, and the display was now in km! Back into workshop again and another five mins, and it’s back outside ready. Oil message now gone, but the central display isn’t working. Back in again!  Hopefully all good now!

Yep, that's exactly the stage my last 306 was at when I got it.  Well worth persevering, it'll probably be right as rain again for a good while once a few months or seemingly continuous gremlins are dealt with.

Check your battery earth lead - my first failure was that parting company with the battery.  In the middle of the night.  On a rural Scottish back road about 15 miles from the nearest street light.  That was moderately exciting when I suddenly just lost all electrical power out of nowhere.

Awesome! I do like me a big old barge and an Aussie one at that, they are like US barges, but RHD  

I look forward to reading how ya get one with them, I mean think how much old computers and lightbulbs you could get in the back of the hearse!

and imagine you could have some fun if you put the Limo up on Uber or some such Taxi/car hire app as "large 7 seater" (or however many seats it has) I can imagine that leading to some amusement when a family at the airport does a hire expecting some Mercedes Vito to show up, but instead a Fairlane limo shows up LOL

Cheers, there won’t be much to report from me about them though as it seems they’ve already found a new home and I think there’s more chance of a free Palestine than of old computers or lightbulbs figuring in their future.

Well, I've known for ages but been dragging my heels in delusion of "I'll get it back on the road"...

Would there be interest on a Spares or daring repairs LS400?  Also I'd have a Abarth 595 thats needing work as well if anyone wanted. 

Keep in mind I'm in what may as well be the Antarctic location wise, as a trailer would be needed.
