Thankfully the Kia’s steering problem looks like it’s only a pipe or hose. Bad news is it looks like a Kia special order unless I play parts darts with Autodoc. Stepdaughter needs the car soonish so I think Kia may be best bet but will try a couple local motor factors on way over to Bognor.

Looks like it’s one of those order from Kia only parts. £176. Plenty of LHD ones on the internet for about £40

both rubber sections of the line are badly perished and the lowest metal part is so crusty it has a pinhole.

Working with dustcarts you probably blowout pipes regularly , what does your fitter see or say 🤔

Local guys can’t do anything for nearly 2 weeks. One quoted me not much less than Kia which I thought was a rip-off.

We make our own hoses up or order direct from Dennis Eagle. Our fitters have nothing that small.

Spent a long but interesting day off work yesterday driving from London to Lincolnshire to view a couple of Skoda Estelles.  Both requiring levels of recommissioning.  A really nice looking beige one but it was a lot of money and a straight and solid red one but with pretty weathered paint.  As of yet neither purchased

Not yet. I thought seeing two on one day would be a good idea but its now meant that the question isn't just do I want/need to buy a new car to but is now do I want/need to buy a new car and if so which one!

Friend of a friend bought this seemingly good MR2.

Seemed reasonably solid on initial inspection. Some rust but nothing chronic.

Turns out it's fucked. Not massively surprised but shit break for the young owner

Holy shit! (Pun intended).

Buy a Jap car they said. Lasts forever they said.

Would sorely love an MR2 or Celica, but seriously, screw that. Every one I've found has been the same, often hidden by the plastic covers they love so much.

All fitted and super smooth, no slapping wiper action returned.

Went for a blast round the block and how did the universe repay me for all this niggle fixing? Puncture, nail through the shoulder of a three month old tyre 😡.

Day 3 on the boat had a bit of an unexpected ending -

These buggers decided to peck at the boat!

they eventually fucked off

Day 4 dawned bright but with an approaching band of rain..

We took the chance to motor away early (ish) and completed the cruise up to Weston in about 3hrs (including a couple of locks, and a reversal of the previous 'blind turn under a bridge onto another canal')

This all went tickity boo, and we got to see some interesting sights on the Trent and Mersey..

A boat I'm not allowed to buy

A truck I am not allowed to buy

When we arrived at Weston we went for a stoat to a local hostelry for scran, and met some Llamas 🦙

FFS, I'm going to have that stuck in my head all night now.

Just got in the door from seeing Peter Kay live at Resorts World at the NEC. Fantastic.

335D averaged 44.6 MPG over the 260 odd mile round trip.

Sidevalve, overhead valve, can’t decide so let’s have both in bizarre and seldom-copied compromise.

Good luck to him. Even though I had it for 22 years I had no sentimental feelings for it.

I usually grab the disc to tighten/loosen it. Even long nose pliers work. I can never find the bloody tool!

I have to say, if I needed a socket to undo a disc, there was greater problems I'd be having. You don't want to overtighten them either as it'll crush and damage the disc.

its not the grip on the disk,  its the pain and comfort in my hands #osteoarthritis&fybromyalgia sucks..

Went for an evening bike ride today.  Hadn't been along the lanes for over a week, it's definitely more springlike than last time I went that way.

Also saw a white pheasant, which was unusual.
