Part 2 of vectra fixerage.

The orinal pipe was wider at the bottom than the top. All I could get was 19mm heater hose. I opened it out with a grinding stone in a drill.

After manging to get it on ( it branches off from from the pipe that feeds the airbox) I took a piccy. Access is shocking and I have a broken thumbnail as a result.

It would have been impossible without these - my best recent buy. They are for those springy clips - they lock so you dont have to keep the pressure on and the jaws rotate so the square edges of  the clip.

The other end was much wider than the original - sealant and a jubilee clip were required. I gave everything a spray of bullshit shine. My 7mm spanner fell into the depths and I had to take fixings out of the bumper and undertray to find it - I then saw how much mess the oil had made.

Despite still looking good for 2007 I realise it is getting tired - it has done 145k now - if my fix hasn't worked I will not be going back again.

Got a wee thread gauge off Amazon.

Inside the sealed pouch, proudly stating made in China was a thread gauge stating it was made in Germany 🤔

Allegedly made in Germany  😂

Made a start on the Cavalier today.

I have had to remove a lot of pipe work just to get the fan out.

The radiator is ready to come out now, I just need to remove the battery for clearance.

There's a big hole at the bottom of it so I am glad I am replacing it.

It's 20 to 6 now, I am still on holiday so I shall louse and get a beer or 3.

Off to the exhaust place tomorrow to speak to the chap about the Audi.

Agreed to spend a lot of money this afternoon after a test drive. Nice trip out to newlands corner in the sun. Car drove well enough- no classic Mercedes or Citroen but ok and with decent tyre walls too. This space will soon be filled - not going outside the current marque collection though. I did feel old when the salesman asked how long I’d had the 2cv and when I said 26 years, he said he was 22!

24 hours later, the thing's still there.... Airbag went off, so it must have been quite an impact.

Suboptimal.

I have a spare but no clue how much joy it'll be to get to it to replace it.

Was going to stop in the car park at newlands but didn’t actually get in to it. I doubled the mileage on the brand new test car from 6 to 12? Interesting colour, but it grew on me- paprika. I have bought another blue car - all my cars are blue.

These usually have the police aware stickers that allow you to park anywhere.

New, boring and unpopular. It drove very well and has a good number of toys. Mind you the Mercedes still drives almost perfectly and that’s not got the structural integrity of the titanic.

Realised today that the Toyota turned 25 on Sunday.  Slightly miffed that I missed the occasion, but pleased that it was at least MOT'd in time for its quarter century.

Is the lowered, stickered, purple Fiesta still kicking around?  I seem to rememeber it has triangular exhausts.  Lowered to the extent that it couldn't even navigate the car park at anything more than 2MPH at your work...

Didn't know they still made and sold these here; I've seen a couple of hatchbacks- same colour as this one- and one estate! 👍 😎

Wondering whether that Isis is the same one I saw at Reemans of Colchester about five years ago, now shorn of its four number F Essex plate. Almost certainly is, why can't greedy cunts leave stuff alone?

We have been in Glasgow for a couple of days.

A few points , boy is it big, and everyone drives a SUV of some description.

Every Qasquai, Juke and note, that rolled off the Nissan Sunderland plant is now in Glasgow.

Everyone in the city centre drives a Range Rover SVR.

All roads seem large, open and fast.

And the Erskine bridge is geeet big.

Glasgow is best explored on foot, via the medium of the city's many excellent bars(and ideally avoiding the dodgy ones)

This is the new face lift, with FIAT script on the grill and new 1litre turbo 3 cylinder lump. It's on a 21 reg and the active Cross edition for my "lifestyle". I like the fact that there are not many about - everyone round here has A class mercs and nissan cashcows.
