Look at the state of it! Brilliant!

I have just made my transylvanian friend aware of this. She is reminiscing, having had one as a family car from 84. She learned to drive in one. She says she can smell it now :) Also that the ITP isn't impressive.

Then she asked me how you were getting home... I said driving, she said:

"Jesus."

she says do not go faster than 60mph and watch your temp gauge.

and if you like skodas, she knows a guy.

Top work.

(and good luck).

A 5 speed gearbox, and a tachometer?!

Luxury!

That looks absolutely cracking Mr Wobbler, well done!

Are you looking to buy another, seeing as 2 of you flew out?

Seems an ideal opportunity, and you could take it in turns with the tow rope!

No, one will do. Even on the 130km drive back to Bucharest, I was surprised how bored I got with Rich in another car.

This is going to look well dodgy on the drive back, 2 English hippies in a car on Romanian plates, expect cavity searches LOL

My friend, Bogi, is insisting you include the Curtea de Arges, Transfagarasan road in your return trip.

Her (Romanian) husband says it would not be fair to bet how far the car will get....

I can only apologise profusely for taking this long to get this image posted. OBLIGATORY.

Scary prices.

Until you remember that there are many lei to a euro. The fuel gauge only goes up to just over half, but I suspect the sender is iffy.

Ha! It has had the Speedo bulbs replaced. The binnacle moved when I press the mileage button...

Wasn't that the line ol Quenton Wilsin used.........

The trip looks a mega hoot, cap doffed. Bet you even hairnet is Kincross

Can I suggest when you get new wipers that you also get a gerry can to fill with pez if the fuel gauge is a bit dodgy.

This is splendid. I doff my hat to you both.

One’s too many, ten’s not enough!

Well done lads & safe trip back. I'd have gone for the Dedra estate a couple of pages back though.

Yep, looking forward to seeing this at shitefest! Top work

Not a bad shout, though I'm loathe to get another can. Have loads of them at home! I trust the gauge at the lower end.

Unique* reg must be worth ££££ m8.

Late registration madness- or so it seems- presumably the DVLA will give it an H plate - correct for year of build but nonetheless will look odd to UK market eyes.

Just buy another, I bet you £5 you will use it at least once on the way back ;)

To be fair, H reg is better than those Q Plates put on kit cars...

The regular issue with the sender was this: the floating barrel that moves the potentiometer cracks and fills up with some petrol. The low fuel amber light is separate, and you can trust that one to perform even if the level sender is not true.

For maximum originality you should search for OEM sparkplugs: the elusive Sinterom 14NP21.

I'm yet to catch up with the videos of this, as Mrs D has had some wine this evening and will probably sod off to bed shortly, I'll load this up on the living room TV.

Dacia Denem estate is much approved of.

Those are long gone, I'm afraid. The last one I've seen turning a wheel was more than an year ago.

Shame but not totally unexpected.

The estate purchased looks so much more exotic though !!!!!
