The problem is, when they were about, no-one would be seen dead in one. Now, there's this rose-tinted view that they were the best ever.
The Skoda was the one to have. The Lada, definitely not.

It's the whole 80s revival thing.

They really were to lowest you could stoop. My brother had one, slipshod wasn’t the word, in summer it had this really strong smell of a cross between bitumen and freshly moulded cheap plastic, the factory stereo used to fall out of the dash. I’ve travelled in one, there is no way you could look back fondly and say it was misunderstood. Would have one though but there’s no way you could concede it wasn’t a really bad decision buying one in the nineties.

to make matters worse, a 92/K plate could be the carburettor/catalyst version. Good luck getting that through the emissions every MOT

My mate had a Mk1 poverty spec Panda in the late 80s. I have to say, that was bloody awful too.

If I remember it was beige or light mustard or something.

That’s where you need a 5 year plan comrade!

An AA warranty on a 23 year old shitter? That would explain the £2000 premium being asked for that sweet pre-DRIVEL ride.

I think that's in the wrong thread, really. Deserves to go for proper money.

Does raise a question, though, and it's something I really don't understand about eBay: what's the point of bidding on anything when there's still four days to go?

Not suggesting in any way that it's good value or worth buying, but am curious why it's a Cat-S when you can clearly see there's no damage to the sill, and nothing obvious to the roof. Are doors "structural" now?

EDIT: NVM, just noticed the back of the door shut

No doubt this is a nice one. But £20k? No Maestro has ever sold for that in the history of mankind. Also it's been lowered/barried.

Of all Meastros, a Turbo would be the one that had the best chance of getting top money.

I've nowhere to put it obviously, but I am actually quite taken by that burgundy Sierra.

For me, there's a reason it's rare.

Well, actually, it's not for me 🤣 That's hideous.
I'd happily take a british racing green with tan leather though.
