Was searching through some stuff today & came across this pic of my late friend Richards panda collection from the 00's.

Doesn't seem like 10 years since we lost you.

1 std, 2 " colour" ( limited edition) & 3 4x4 ( the silver 4x4 in front of the garage is now in a museum in America, oh & there was a 126 in the garage!

Think I've had 7 MK2 Escorts and 7 MK1 Fiestas. Priced out of my addiction these days, no longer can I own 9 cars at once dotted about in various locations

Posted

I’ve had 7 or 8 106s, 4 Saxos, and 2 Citroen AX’s, so I guess one is anything with that chassis and a TU engine.

I think the highest proportion of vehicles I've owned have have been the MG/Rover marque! Never owned a German marque that I can remember

Does seventeen Cortina’s and two Granada’s count as an addiction? I also have a Rover SD1, series 1 Jaguar XJ6, Chimera and Citroen CX if that makes it any better…….. or worse?

Nah I think I’m fine.

Ah, cortinas.

I've had fifteen mk2's, and currently own 3, an E, a 1300 deluxe and an estate of dubious provenance.

Iv also had two MK3 estates, and a mk4.

I'm like @sheffcortinacentre, I can stop any time I want to, no addiction here, no siree, excuse me whilst I go back to eBay....

For me unsurprisingly Primera's. Well over 100. Nearly all went round the oval at Barford and Scunthorpe.

Yeah I had spell of just buying MK3 Astras.

Last count was 12 of the fuckers.

Well, I had a thing for just buying old GM shit. So about 31 Vauxhalls overall?

I mean owning just one is bad enough 🤣.

Seven Marina/Ital, all gone.

Six Volvo 240/245/740/940, all gone.

Eleven  Metro's, currently down to three, which are due to be collected by a new owner before X-mas.

About forty  Land Rover Series 2/2a/3,  currently down to  one project which is for sale.

Five Freelander's, one sold, two are  due to be collected by new owners before X-mas, one  daily and one  spares car which I intend to keep for the foreseeable  future.

I think I am almost cured.

I am a rounded and balanced person, happy with a wide variety of types of cars from different countries and makes plus all ages!

Unless you think buying more cars than I sell EVERY year is a problem!

Four SD1's.

Three vectra's.

I like the uncertainty when you turn the key....

Delighted there's another mk2 estate of dubious provenance on the forum.

Ok, now who brought spares cars into it?

That puts an ENTIRELY different spin on things

For a start, cortinas has now gone up to around 30....🙄

255-65-19 continental cross contact tyres as fitted to the new Defender, I currently have 3 sets, all as new. I never pay more than £60 for 4.

At the moment I’ve 2 V5 Golf mkIV’s plus a Golf Mk3.5 and a Mini as a winter hack plus a Z3 and a E36 Ti.

I regretted selling my lovely low mileage rust free Mk1 Punto for £600 though this year and should of kept that and let the mini go instead, so I could stay in the 1990’s

I usually keep a daily for at least five years, its very handy and usually cost effective to have another one same spec for parts. Not viable for everybody due to the need for somewhere secure to store one.

The silver Freelander developed an  intermittent fueling fault that even my tame mechanic couldn't solve. It was almost out of mot, had  done about 180,000 miles, was due a cambelt, two tyres  and needed some welding.

A look on Gumtree found the red one, almost the same spec, long mot, under 100,000 miles for £700  and in much better condition.

So far I have used the exhaust system, disks and pads, a window motor and the battery, also due to use the prop shaft when I find the time.

I used to be addicted to air-cooled VWs, starting with my first car, a 1971 1300 Beetle.

That was followed by another 5 Beetles, 1 bay window camper, a Type 3 Fastback, a Type 3 Variant, a 412 LE and 2 kit cars. I have manged to stay air free for over 30 years now but still look at old Beetles and Beach Buggies and think I might want another.

In more recent times I have an addiction to Minis. In the last 16 years I have owned 7 British ones, 2 Italian ones and 3 German ones.
