1973 Renault 15 - I've broken my own rules.

Jaysus that brings back some memories.

A mate of mine swapped his lovely Mk1 Cavalier for one of these in the late 80's, we all thought he was mad, turned out to be a really nice car. Sadly for him it didn't last long as some scrote nicked it from near Swansea uni and left us with a 200 mile journey home with little money and no car.

Cracking find/buy that is though.

Canny odd that Renault made the 15 and 17 at the same time. Both fantastic looking coupes. Nice white 17 features in this 1972 French film...

Beautifully styled cars these, personally I prefer the cleaner long rear window to the louvres in the 17 but I wouldn't chase either off the driveway. What engine has it got?

Fantastic, it could not have gone to a better home, I thought a mk3 Cavalier would be next in line, this is a very nice surprise. I am really looking forward to the restoration thread.

Its a 1600TS, pleasantly surprised by its sprightliness (and lack of structural car pox)

Interior is quality.

Not looking forward to finding 15 specific parts though. 🤔

What a find. If your Cav restos are anything to go by, this one will also be a belter.

Temp gauge, fuel gauge, and several warning lights live in there - doesn't make much sense in the above pic though!

Oh my!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of these in person!
What a purchase!

What a find, I always thought they were good looking cars.

Back a long time ago I had a friend who had a 15TS and I volunteered to change the front shock absorbers. A spring slipped off the coil spring compressors and flew past me to land 30m away, they were extraordinary long!

When I was at art college, I used to car share with a lad in a 1300cc, 15L in metallic blue. VAL50L. His father owned an RO80.

To make it nice, I'll need a fair few bits and pieces.

If I can get the parts I need, it will.👍

It was originally white, so this will be the target.

Amazing buy.

As it's a 'proper renner' you'll probably need 'something only fitted on Tuesday afternoons in April after tea break'!
