PiperCub Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Weren't Renault still trying to flog off old 5's long after the first Clio's showed up?
forbeslongden Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Weren't Renault still trying to flog off old 5's long after the first Clio's showed up? I've seen 5's as late as N-plate I think. Maybe there's the odd P kicking about and obviously the DVLA 52 plate one haha!
forbeslongden Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 2006 lat for mk2 clito? There's an 08' plate Campus kicking around down here, I'll have to try and snap it at some point.
forbeslongden Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 52 plate Peugeot 306 Sedan anyone? This one must have been sat for years, I'm sure that's a phase 1 front end? Too bad the guy has broken it for bits this week, I would have had that
PiperCub Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Reminds me of the story a mate told me about a bike that hung around in a dealers that he frequented for years - the staff used to buy it birthday cards!
hennabm Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Had an 06 mk2 facelift punto dropped into me today . The grande must have been out for a bit by then The first Grandes were demonstrators on 55 plates in late February 06 with the majority of the early ones being 06 onwards. The older style Punto continued on a bit after and I have seen a 56 reg earlier version.
brownnova Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 How about an N-reg VW Type 25 which lives near me - I was sure they stopped making them in the early 90s!

brownnova Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 probably Seth Effrican production as they built them until 2002 .That was my initial thought too but in Seth Effrica they drive on the same side of the road as us I think, and this ones a left hooker... It came in on Polish plates originally.

John F Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 ^ What the actual fuck? How can that be on a 64-plate?? Has someone finally managed to get one of the cars out of that abandoned dealership in Northern Cyprus??
NorfolkNWeigh Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 That Volvo was first registered Jan 27 2015, manufactured 2014 apparently .Is this what happens if you just tick the wrong box when importing , this ones obviously come from Belgium or Holland ? Are we likely to see more of this now the local DVLA's have gone. Interestingly the MOT expires in November this year not in 3 years.
cms206 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 The NL sticker suggests a recent import from Holland and it's LHD; interestingly as well as the MOT only being for one year, the tax bands are in the pre-2001 up to/over 1549cc.
Matt Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Mistake in the paperwork that slipped through the cracks I reckon, I wonder what would happen if you made the same mistake but wrote 2016 instead.

Vin Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 A few years ago a friend registered his Fiat 132 that he got from Italy. It should have had a 1980 W suffix reg, but it ended up with a year 2000 W prefix reg due to ERRORS. As he wanted to use the car he had some cheap plates made up and ran it round like that for a week or two until the DVLA rectified the situation... In the next village there is a LHD Opel Corsa with an NL sticker on the back. It is a year 2000 W reg car but it has a 1980 W registration - xKH xxxW. Another DVLA ERROR I expect...
forbeslongden Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Not amazingly exciting, but I can't recall seeing a later 206 in the UK than this one....
RayMK Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 My dad's 1966 Ford Taunus 17m estate was bought privately in Germany whilst he was based there (Forces). It had a BFG registration for the remainder of his time there. On returning to the UK, all particulars were declared correctly at the closest local office to Dover - at Maidstone, I think - and the car was awarded the registration ALM505H. Similarly, my Peugeot moped, bought new in Roermond in 1967, had a BFG registration for a couple of years in Germany, then by a similar process was awarded SKM26H at Maidstone when we returned to the UK in 1969. Also, my 1961 Reliant Regal MKVI, formerly LCM66, had its registration sold by a previous owner in the 1980s, and was awarded a registration number by the authorities of the time from an unused 1963 series i.e. DFH596A, as was the policy back then.
Lord Sterling Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Going through my old spots, I found this: Not seen a tax disc since May 2011... shaun1706, Ghosty and worldofceri 3
kinkersaab Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Indian spec import ^ mostly 220 manuals, always sit on higher springs, and rust like fuck, lots of them saw life as taxis over here.
EssDeeWon Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Not amazingly exciting, but I can't recall seeing a later 206 in the UK than this one.... Interesting you should say that because there is an 09 plate 206 that lives over the road from me and I often look and think the same...I am sure 207's came out on 08 plates but I could be wrong.
Timewaster Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 When Mrs T's 206 got side swiped in 2009 I looked about for replacements incase it got binned (it didn't) and was amazed that the 206 was soldiering on in a single spec 1 petrol 1 diesel range at not particularly attractive prices.
Pillock Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Oddly, can't find it on the DOOVLA but TotalCarCheck have it listed as a 2002-built car.
Skizzer Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 ^ It's under 'Rover' as manufacturer on DVLA: Date of first registration 03 December 2002Year of manufacture 2002 The first BINIs were on a 51-plate, weren't they... Some sort of last gasp run-out edition? Edit: Wikipedia (quoting a book) says the last one was built on 4 October 2000 and given to the BMIHT. So I'm all out of guesses.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 They just kind of faded out over an indeterminate period Rusty_Rocket and Partridge 2
Richard Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Interesting you should say that because there is an 09 plate 206 that lives over the road from me and I often look and think the same...I am sure 207's came out on 08 plates but I could be wrong. My dad's wife has a 207 on an 07 plate, I think they started on 06. The 52 plate Mini probably just hung around before being registered/sold. The last one made isn't necessarily the last one registered. Charlie Croker 1
