Pictures taken moments before disaster

As title suggests, pictures of your cars taken right before something goes wrong, here’s my Invacar next to a Lexas LS400 right before the starter packed up   Before the battery died

My first Nova before it did it's geyser trick from the header tank because the head gasket had blew two minutes before .

That diesel tanker you can see in the last photo didn't give way at the cross roads and I rammed into the nearside front corner of their cab at basically cruising speed.  Did three complete rotations before coming to rest there.

Driver claimed not to have seen me.

Visibility splay approaching the junction.  I was travelling left to right.

Make of that what you will!  Apparently the chassis of the nearly new tanker ended up shaped like a banana, so I felt slightly less cheated at least!

Taken mere moments before I bump started it in reverse in order to get home.

I've owned it nearly a week and still haven't had it running again.

I have been quite unlucky.

HR-4352.thumb.jpg.1c1f3d26dc88f6f5cc4385b269b92bd9.jpg

Minutes later...

IMG_20210828_173753.thumb.jpg.0b713ed303bfccc7d6b6a5699a4493e2.jpg

IMG_20210828_175703.thumb.jpg.9c5f3fd3e17ab5b35fd963be821ef4aa.jpg

(AA van was not for me, but made a good photo while broken down)

14 months later...

IMG_20221030_115242.thumb.jpg.5637370f856367a5805349b617fec327.jpg

And then...

IMG_20221030_153720.thumb.jpg.5197a79ebc7cafc7d63c7d883c8ec677.jpg

The bridge in both "before" photos is the same one on the same road. The "afters" are the same parking spot at the same petrol station, and with AA vans.

I'm never taking an old car down there again...

Probably not the right thing to say, but fuck me that's impressive from the skoda.

Mine is unfortunately a print photo from twenty odd years ago, which is in storage at the moment so you'll just have to use your imagination.

Two couples on holiday in Spain having a drink in a bar. I set up my camera for a timer photo on the table opposite, then sat down on the floor next to our table.

The camera caught the exact moment I banged my head on the table, which launched my wine onto my head.

I had less injuries than the lorry driver.

Bruise from the seatbelt, scrape on knuckles on both hands where I punched the wiper/indicator stalks.  My back it turned out did suffer as well a bit, but given the impact I was both bloody lucky, and the car stood up incredibly well.  Especially given how dismissive people tended to be of the marque from that period.

I reckon if I'd been in my folk's Fusion I'd have been cut out of it probably an hour after the impact in several pieces.

According to a bystander the rear of the Skoda made it a good couple of feet into the air immediately following the impact.

Was a cracking car this one.  Have bought another two trying to find another one that's half as good.   They've both been a complete let down in comparison sadly.

Maybe you could pre-book the AA van for next time.

Filling up a 416GTI I'd bought off RobT, at the Asda in Poplar.

I got in the car to drive away and the main relay died. Had to call the AA and ended up driving home in a PowerShift Fiesta listening to Booker T and the MG's.

My mum came with me on the collection, she's never bothered again.

My £100 K11 Micra, freshly through an MOT that cost £150. (Handbrake cable, CV boot) Saturday night acquiring dinner.

1 mile later, dozy cunt in Cashcow pulls out in front of me and stops in middle of road... :(

20180127_212802 (Custom).jpg

What was galling
was there was barely a scratch on his cuntmobile and my Micra was destroyed. K11s are great wee cars, but don't hit anything in one...
