The Cornish contingent are planning to bring some sort of local food products up for the group .

To be confirmed

Do any of you speak Kernowek?

Just because it's almost the same as Welsh, I'd be interested in swapping words!

There is a good pie and pasty shop in Llanrug just a few miles away, if you can't manage to bring enough Cornish or Devonshire pasties I'm sure they'll have you covered.

Put that into google maps and it'll take you straight there.

Google maps? 😂

Remember who you are talking to.

As long as its on the 1997 AA Big Road Atlas of Great Britain, we'll find it.

I R EXCITE.

A stupid part of me wants to see if I can get the CRX MOTd in the week (!) before SF and bring it.

A bit of local history; we'll be staying opposite the site of the 1869 Cwm Y Glo nitro-glycerine explosion. Two carts transporting nitro-glycerine from Caernarfon went up it what was believed to be the loudest man-made explosion up to that time. Remains of a harness and one of the cartwheels were found half a mile away.

https://www.hiraeth.wales/cwm-y-glo-explosion/

If anyone's interested I'm happy to lead a walk round some of the quarries on Saturday after breakfast. There's remains of the tramways, winding houses and workers' barracks. About six miles, footpaths all the way but some steps, uneven ground and steep sections.

We could stop off at the legendary Pete's Eats in Llanberis on the way back to the campsite.

I will be down for a Saturday or Sunday visit.

I may as well be a miserable fuck right now and say that whatever I bring, I won't be letting people drive.  Too much at stake, sorry, nothing personal.
Happy to do runs, though.

I want to ride the Llanberis Lake Railway, are there any group off site excursions planed for Saturday or Sunday so I can avoid booking the railway for that time?

http://lake-railway.co.uk/index.html

Myself and @juular may be up for anything railway related.

Also @Sunny Jim, Mr @320touring is definitely going. @captain_70s is still a maybe despite our best efforts.

I reckon I'm up to 75% chance of attendance.

Not sure if I'll be turning up late on Friday or on Saturday, will entirely depend on how work goes on Friday.

For those planning on coming via the A5 and Llanberis Pass there are roadworks on the A4086 alongside the lake (Llyn Padarn). There's traffic lights and a contraflow and if you hit it at the wrong time the delays can be considerable.

If you're going on Lake Railway consider going from Penllyn (head of the lake) which is ten minutes walk from the campsite, otherwise Llanberis is a 3 mile walk.

Parents bringing kids: for the little ones there's swings and slides and for the older ones a skatepark in Cwm Y Glo, five minutes from the campsite.

The Snowdon Inn used to be called Y Fricsan and the old signs are still the easiest to spot when you're looking for where to turn off the A4086.
