I suppose £220 isn't too bad really - I could have an OMG PLNET DESTRYIN 4x4, that could cost upwards of £400 a year to tax.

Or an old Jeep that costs £220 a year in DVLA rape fund.

One car nailed together by Septics* is enough for me, thanks.

*OK, mine was finished off in Koln, Germany, and you might even tell me your Jeep was made in Austria, but you get my drift - both originated in the 'ol U S of A

Sodding wiper mechanism has bust on the Saab. Ah well, at least its only the drivers side, and its only forecast to carry on raining for ETERNITY.

"Hello, I'm phoning about the car, is it in good condition?"

"Well, did you see the (highly descriptive, including 12 photos) ad?"

"Err... yeah, a bit."

:?

"So what's the lowest you'll take for it?"

"Well, it's up for £1950 so ideally somewhere near that figure"

"Would you take £1200?"

"No?"

"Only I'm really after a newer one"

Thing is, I thought putting "No dumbfucks or shitheads" on the ad would've been needlessly obnoxious? Maybe not?

You should be happy. That's an ideal opportunity for an Autoshite single-wiper conversion! (ie just move the passenger arm so it clears some of the driver's side). Preferably leave the driver's wiper up against the pillar. That always looks classy.

Happy birthday anyway! 40's not so bad, you want to try 53 on for size...

My sister died this afternoon, after losing the fight against lung cancer.

She had been doing quite well, despite losing her mobility and being in considerable pain. She finished a short course of radiotherapy on Wednesday, which was aimed at giving pain relief, and hence enabling her to become more mobile and have a bit of a life this summer.

Last night, she became very short of breath and was rushed to hospital. She deteriorated overnight, and eventually passed away this afternoon with her family around her. She was 44 years old.

To say I feel like I've been kicked in the teeth is a massive understatement. We were always close, even if we didn't see each other as often as we'd have liked.

RIP Mandy.

Another message of support here. Forums include so many people that you never meet or know too well, and yet there are always personal events shared so openly. I hope you get all the support you need from family and friends, and that this place can in some small part support you at this difficult time. My sincerest condolences on what is an unpleasant loss.
