Grumpy? You bet.

My BMW has a problem with the indicators - signalling right and they go fast - I had an error for the rear right.

Alarm bells should have been ringing when there is nothing in the owners pack to tell you how to swap a bulb.

Even more alarm bells when there are no how to's on the internet.

The bells were peeling even more when I got the tools out and noticed a crack in the plastic.

After removing some nuts ( a couple were a right PITA due to access ) I managed to get the light free.

20250320_121542.jpg.c0e872ee8aa19286fe4a0cd1f44846bf.jpg

I removed four screws from the rear cover but even then unit wouldn't separate.

20250320_121556.jpg.946e91defc5d23ed9126ee25563755a0.jpg

I saw a PCB inside. Even gently prising was causing the plastic to crack. So I stopped.

It is obviously a sealed unit. With LED lights.

So it will require a new cluster - even if you could repair the fault you would irrevocably damage the housing.

The german car industry has done it's own legs......

It's cracked. A replacement is required.

It's a BMW, surely you don't need indicators.

Sorry, I'll get my coat.

I was wondering how he found out the indicator wasn't working ?

Same with all moderns LED rears non reparable. But still on the bright side you are saving the planet because they take less power, thus your alternator works less, thus making more MPG

Falkirk Council have put my tax up by FORTY QUID a month, in a 15% rise for everybody.

They've got a sophisticated online booking system for the local recycling centre to avoid queues.

A great* success today:

It's not even near here, it's up a short road. Nothing was moving and I didn't have enough time on my 1 hour lunch break.

Saabs full of shite till Monday when I go back and try again.

Dickheads.

Fun fact, Wardpark Recycling don't ask where you've come from and don't require booking.

I haven't been to the local one since the booking system came in...

They are amateurs. I've recently had the Business Rates bills in for my 3 shops. 2 are +140%, third is +182.55%. Any wonder small businesses are struggling?

Cheers Tony, I used to go there before the ID requirements came in during Covid, I didn't know they'd stopped asking. I'll start going back there again, I never had any issues there in all the years I used it.

Has to be.

He's such an epic wanker I bet even his wife finds him a turn-off.

Should be locked in a room with Drew Charredprick and left to fight it out.

Thing is, this isnt happening on just one of the drives, the example I gave was from my external 4tb drive, just now, when going through pics for the ad I just put up, I found more examples, on my PC`s main drive (a 1.5tb SSD):

Ive seen this a lot on my wife's samsung phones, seem to happen a lot more if you bulk copy/paste photos. If I do 5 or 10 at a time they transfer fine. If i do 80 or 100 (she takes a lot of photos, usually of nothing important) then a few get like this.

I've seen this occasionally in the past.  Not phone photo's but DSLR ones.

I sometimes transfer a hundred or so when going monthly backups.  Most go to a 2TB drive but I have a second 2TB drive not used much and several laptop drives.  Haven't noticed any particular pattern and it is a rarity.

just junked one of my fuji cameras .the s4530 selection knob decided to start being erratic in its operation ,

jumping from auto to programmed and other settings at the slightest touch .

took the camera apart but the internals proved bit of a handfull with the knob well buried within them , so it got filed under B ..

not worth paying out for a 40 note camera to be fixed ...

Had a weekend away in the camper to the Volksworld show and the drive home took over 5 hours yesterday. Put the van away in the garage but went to get something out of it this afternoon and the windscreen has shattered! No idea how or why. At least it didn't shatter on the motorway though.  I wonder how good windscreen cover is on my insurance for a 1973 VW camper.

Some git opened their door into mine today outside work. I’ve polished it quickly with autoglym but will need to get the meguiars buffing machine on it sometime. It’s a fiat after all, with no structural integrity and micron thick paint.

Yodel typing absolute bollox - no way they attempted anything this morning as I was outside the house, happily* drilling out a broken stud all morning - if they'd come within 100 yards of the house the collie would have told me.
And another thing (to quote Victor) - they've not once notified me of any of this paper trail - I have to go looking? Great bloody service

Good luck! (We get this now and then as the local Yodel guys are a thrid party service and I get the feeling they are either short staffed or wait until they have more than one package for our area - then they insist on trying to deliver it two miles away to a gate in the next village :-( )

Selling some ceramic floor tiles. Gave the size of the tiles, gave the total quantity. Still asked how many square metres they will cover. Not once, but three times. Can no one do simple maths?

Had similar on a lwb Suzuki SJ, the rear window was on two posts with hand screws onto the tailgate for the removable roof.

I'd taken it off, and stood it carefully out of the way, but when I went back to it an hour or so later it had just exploded 🤔

Cue loads of arguments with glass companies and Suzuki who claimed it was an aftermarket part (it wasn't, just a Spanish built Santana)

Did get there in the end, but that was a stressful four months, hope you get sorted easier

Got a box of chocolates from M&S last week for my birthday. Couldn’t find the description chart anywhere, (does anyone else call them The Instructions).

Finally found it on the bottom of the box. WTF? Who thought that was clever? Tip all the chocolates on the floor to see what flavour they are.

Scottish power have been pestering me to book a smart meter fitting because my house has (actually had, but whatever) RTS controlled heating and they're switching that off.

Bloke arrives today, and within literally 20 seconds says it'll have to be rescheduled because he's not trained to replace RTS meters.

Why do utilities companies always have such fucking shit internal communications?

Yes, they are the instructions as far as I am concerned

Scottish Power are shit but never admit it, never apologise and won’t give you any compensation for fucking everything up.

British Gas are just as bad but always apologise and usually give you something if you complain enough, normally half of what you tell them you want, so aim high.

I've never forgiven them for sending a debt collector round on my birthday for money that I did not in fact owe them.

Scottish Power came to my house to fit a smart meter, discovered an issue with the electrics, proceeded to change the meter anyway and then cut me off because they shouldn't have changed the meter with the electrics issue, leaving me without power. Fortunately a family friend is an electrician and was over within an hour to fix the issue and I was back on within 90 minutes.

I changed suppliers almost immediately after that.

I'm not in a position to comment on the other patriotic energy supplier if I want to keep receiving a wage. Interestingly I work in the industry and the first I knew of the RTS shutdown was hearing an advert on Gold Radio!
