is it me or is there an increase in ‘Up the Arse Audi’s*’ that are on the roads?  Most of them seem to be these big fuck off size Audi’s, although not exclusively, that delight in forcing people to go faster by driving up their Arse, or just seem to drive that way and have no concept of leaving a gap.

I see Carbaba isn't giving out the full details anymore, just basic stuff... Does anyone know of any new websites which give change of owner dates, colour change details etc for free?

Regarding treatment from other drivers

ive noticed a significantly less amount of tailgating, bullying and being pulled out on with the XM compared to the green C5

literally an every day occurrence with the C5 and yet absolutely nothing with the XM

maybe it has more presence?

never really got anything with the red C5 estate either

just the green hatch was a target and ruined driving for me

Yes I think it does have an effect. I have never had anyone do it to me while driving  my Impreza but happens quite often in the Bini.

10PM last night I'd had a few pints and I was hungry and fancied a "little snack" . Ended up eating a full family bag of tortilla chips and did in an entire jar of incredibly spicy, imported mexican salsa that was in the fridge, that I opened about three months ago and was definitely "on the turn". I knew I'd regret it, but not as much as this 😭

I don't want to be too crude, so I won't go any further with my description.

Not a real grump but has anyone else found that when moving to the next page in a thread that you are dumped at the foot of the page rather than to first post on the page.

Only happens on this site.

It occasionally does it to me, but probably less than 10% of the time.

Received a nice note from Cumbria police today. I knew I’d been caught , just wasn’t expecting a van on a bridge on a motorway. ( I didn’t think they did it in case some one slams the brakes on and causes a pile up. I now know better). 82 ffs , hardly the land speed record.

Looks like I can have the pleasure of a Speed awareness course.

As they only send the letters by ordinary post , what’s to stop you saying you never received the letter? When they re-send it , you’re then out of the 2 week timescale. I’m sure there must be a reason , otherwise everyone would do it.

I asked that question in the site help topic and was suggested to clear cookies. Didn't work, still does it. Quite annoying given the length of some of the pages on here and the time it takes to scroll up to the top of a pic heavy post, even on a fast fibre connection.

Hit the "home" key on your keyboard. In (nearly) all browsers that should jump directly back to the top of the page.

Yes, it is irritating though, is happening to me as well on a plethora of different platforms.

Regularly sit on bridges on the M80 and M74.

I’m going to sound like a right busy twat with this but the local Evri driver has a S-Max, I thought ‘I bet that’s done some miles’ , checked it and it’s actually got no MOT, it’s been out for 3 months. Do they not give a shit these outfits? Basically allowing people to be operating on their behalf with a likely unroadworthy vehicle.

Their attitude is "I'm in a bigger and more prestigious car than you so I am automatically more important, get the fuck out of my way."

A lady I work with says ‘they see the four rings and they get out of your way’ 😂

If anything it just makes me adopt a snails pace, they can either back off and we’ll go at the flow of traffic or I’ll just slow right the hell down.

The delivery companies really don't give a shit, as long as somebody turns up and delivers the parcels, they could be driving virtually anything.

I'm sure Evri would have checked the courier was above board when they started, but they will very rarely check if they are still legit further down the line. A lot of the couriers will also subcon the work onto somebody else, while taking a cut, its a pretty brutal, work for a pittance industry.

The one we usually see here has a clapped out Focus with no rear bumper. Hasn't had a test since 2016 and tax for a year or two before that.  Was showing as uninsured when I checked too.

They couldn't give a damn as it's "the responsibility of the driver to ensure their vehicle is legal.".

Corporate responsibility in 2023...

Is passed down the line to the self employed below minimum wage subby.

They do tend to be covered on the courier companies carriage of goods for hire reward policy, the excess on these policies tend to be in the thousands.

I'm sure if something goes amiss then the policy wouldn't pay up, the subby will probably be working a few weeks or more in hand so any costs would be deducted from any income due.

Courier drivers have to have business cover on their insurance. We have plenty of staff at work who use their own car(s) for visiting sites or customers and they have to show they are covered and take a driving assessment in their own vehicle.

If Evri et al actually bothered to check their couriers were running their vehicles legally I reckon at least half their drivers would be out of a job.

Audiwankers is not just limited to the four rings of doom round my way. Pretty much anything German tends to be driven like a twat round here.

At work we have a system where we have to submit evidence & allow checks to be carried out.

If you don't sort before tax/mot/ insurance renewal you get an email inmediately withdrawing your authorisation to drive until resolved...

I get that people are trying to earn a living but you can’t expect the law to accommodate you.

What you say about checking the legalities of drivers is true, ignorance is bliss, if they checked them regularly their business model would collapse.

Business cover is not courier cover. Courier insurance is for the carriage of goods for hire or reward, business cover is for site visiting/carrying your own business goods/stuff about.

Then there are different types of carriage of goods levels depending on what you deliver or how many deliveries you make a day.

I'm a owner driver same day courier, my policy is worded 'Use for Social Domestic & Pleasure Purposes and for the business of the Insured including use for the carriage of goods for hire and reward'.

On top of that I have goods in transit cover, to cover the goods I'm carrying. Then there is public liability cover, in case I damage something or hurt somebody. Then there is employee liability cover as I'm classed as an employee of my own company.

I doubt that many same day multidroppers in their own vehicles are covered correctly, same goes for food delivery guys.

A bloke from openreach or whatever came to our house at 8am to fiddle with the phone socket to make the internet work. According to my wife who was home at the time, he was a very pleasant bloke apart from the fact that he stank to high heaven and then asked to use our downstairs loo and left our house smelling like unwashed genitals.

ten hours later, I've just walked through the door and our house still stinks like pickled testicles. It's fuckin lousy!

How bad must it be that he leaves a trail? I’m surprised his work haven’t pulled him up on it, imagine being on a job with him cooped up in a cupboard in a telephone exchange having to crouch down near him. 🤮

They’re on the case, but they’re just waiting on the civil engineering team to come down and remove his pants with a kango.

Clearly I must have the exception to the rule with my Evri driver, as the lass who delivers round my way appears to be driving a fairly smart looking and apparently completely legal newer Meriva.

Yep evri etc don't give a shit not their problem past the parcel insurance win win for them.

As for takeaway deliveries lol most don't even have a licence one dealer we new 10ish years ago had one near him & was sick of them constantly wanting to give peanuts for tradeins one even asked to be  put on his insurance! & Was genuinely perplexed/annoyed when told it doesn't work like.
