The grumpy thread

Well, I just got the sack.

Too many staff and not enough money apparently, the exact opposite of when they hired me 5 months ago.

Been quoted £1440+VAT for a stainless steel exhaust system to fit the CX. Now have to work out whether I should buy this or pay my imminent tax bill. Hmm.......

I did a good turn today ... it turned bad ..

I had to drop Mrs and her sis off at the hossie ...

when I went back for the pick up I could not go to the drop off point because the rescue helicopter was taking off and they shut the road ..

so I parked by the one and only main entrance to the  hospital in a drop off bay .....  and I let them know by phone call

so there I am stood under a F in big sign saying " MAIN ENTRANCE "  by my car

they could not find me and its my fault ....  and I had to say sorry .......

I took that sister on a day trip today.  Somewhere something broke and life is now shite again.

I forgot the best bit actually. The accident happened when my mum and dad were out together, which meant my sister (who was down for the weekend) and her boyfriend had to go and pick them up in their rental car.

Now, my dad (a) knits to relax (yes, I know) and (b) is a bit of a hoarder. These things mean that my mum has imposed a yarn-buying ban until he uses the three cupboards full he already has.

You can guess what was completely filling the boot and spare wheel well, can't you? Turns out you can fit four adults, £800 of wool and a heavy silence in a Fiat 500...

Hang on, THREE cupboards of wool? And another thing, how is it possible to spend eight hundred QUID on wool in one trip? Is the stuff gold-plated or what?

£800 on wool strikes me as pretty easy to be honest

*struggles to understand how wool can cost that much*

..it's not that cheap to rear sheep just for wool, as the best wool is.  Then it needs cleaning, spinning, dying, batching etc.  £8-£10 a ball not totally unreasonable for something which is very nice.  Then you buy them ten or twenty at a time to get colour matching..

I don't wool, and you can do it a lot cheaper than that, but for really nice stuff...

I knit Peugeots instead.

Those with cars in our street need a Residents Permit, or a Visitors extra.

NT Council charge £25 per permit. Just got mine....

In the strong sunlight, parked outside Tesco thismorning, it curled up and ripped itself off the screen, they have a sticky edging with hologram not to be *cut off... [parking ticket if Goombah cannot see the face clearly!]

FFS...

*I have now overstuck with weapons-grade clear tape :)

Why Do You Capitalise Every Word?

How odd, it must make typing anything of any length pretty long winded and annoying?

That's today's grump from me, people who type like that! :)

Fucking hipsters. What is wrong with a bloody plate?!

Shouting, noisy kids. Little shit bags.

As you can tell, I'm very much on the "hate kids" side of the fence.

In other exciting news, popped to the pub where the window cleaners gather. Tony the flying window cleaner was OK, but Steve had apparently fallen down the stairs in his house. Not only has he broken his arm in two places, he's also injured his spinal cord, got bleeding on the brain and lost the sight in one eye. He'd swallowed his tongue and wasn't breathing when  woman next door arrived a couple of minutes later.

Your life can change in an instant.

Hope Steve is going to be OK.

I'm sure it's a damn sight easier for us to read it than it is for her to type it. Like the guy who needs to use a different font. Hope you got the service done OK, 240girl

I’ve had a serious bout of can’t be bothered today and didn’t get up until 11, despite planning an 8 mile walk before heading to the GSAmi rally.

Two mass murders in USA, some 17 yr old has thrown a child off a tenth floor balcony

And then when I do get dressed at 2pm because the lemon i need for my dinner is purple and furry and so I need to drive to buy one,  the bloody exhaust falls off the damned car. Most expensive lemon in the world!

I wonder if that's another one involving mental health issues.

The police have said they have no connection to the victim, witnesses say the suspect was calm after the incident. Sounds likely.

I have driven past the Bar in Dayton a few times.  It's about 4 miles from my sister's house.

Tis KO.

I was told to type everything in Aerial 14 with a double space between each line to help with that.

People don't like the size of my reports at work, but hey, they can read them.
