The grumpy thread

Driving back from Lancaster yesterday, skirting Bradford, hellish in rush hour. Somebody pulls out from road on left, through gap in standing traffic inside lane, and through the middle lane, I was coming down, not even looking. Had to slam on brakes, road atlas n CD on passenger seat fly onto floor, thankfully stopped in time. Matey in golf (?) with blacked out rear windows sails on oblivious. Narrowly avoided being rear ended myself.

Where do these idiots come from?

Side roads. You said it yourself earlier in the post.

On the 26th Feb I had a minor grump because my mobility scooter had a FTP, thereby blocking my Reliant in the garage.  Had a quick look at it today with the rear cover off and fixed it within a few minutes.  The main connector had come loose.  Still can't easily get my Reliant out.  I'm an untidy bu**er.

Found out why the newly purchased C4 is so slow, the turbo is seized. It's just not worth lashing out on a new core and associated pipe work as there are so many other faults on it. Can't get a quote on cartakeback as it's already registered on there! Looks like I'm going to have to take the hit on this one and buy something else. Kinda of wished I'd kept the C2 now.

I will do, hopefully it will plod on to August when I'll scrap it as it wont go through an MOT. It's just horrible to drive as it's stuck in limp mode so won't rev up

Is there any way to unstick the turbo? I assume it's the vanes that are stuck, bung a load of Mr. Muscle down there.

Peeled a large chunk of my big toenail back at the gym this morning. Only realised when the blood began to seep through my shoe and when I investigated half of the nail was standing bolt upright. Throb throb throb.

More likely fooked bearings? Ran too hot then seize nicely when the engine is next stopped. No idea what turbo is on those so don’t know if they are prone to that or not.

Yep 1.6hdi, I just wasn't expecting it to be seized and still driving! I think the bridge is beckoning once I find another cheap motor as a daily

At least it's seized and not pissing oil out causing a runaway. That still may happen though...

The mk1 Vectra had interesting wing mirrors... And with that, the most depressing thing I've ever typed, I shall now end it all.

...

Knowing Vauxhall it probably made the aerodynamics worse as they dropped them for the mk2.

The dodgy garage near me had a Focus 1.6 ‘non turbo’ for sale, so presumably they’d took a bollocksed turbo off it and ran it without. Don’t off hand know how you’d do this but you could take the turbo gubbins out and run it without. It’ll be slow as shit mind.

I once bought a Mondeo 1.8td with all the wastegate parts removed for "increased fuel economy "....

Bollocks if I'm reattaching that in this weather, I'm using the Visa

Please tell us the Visa did the same but with the other wiper.

Without wanting to tempt fate, the Visa is working superbly.

I had a spicy chicken wrap from McDonald's on the way home last night. I'm good with spicy food, and usually the words spicy and McDonald's mean nothing...

Oh it was hot! Aritifial hot, made purely to just burn, no flavour or slow heat. Had to bin most of it, I just couldn't do it.

I'm just glad it was a chaser to a big mac bacon meal or if have been really angry!

Not been a good weekend this one, and that didn't help

Yeah, I can handle a proper curry with the best of them, but those fiery wraps from macdonalds are deadly,

Macdonald’s food is shit, who would have thought it? :-)

I live in a new build estate where each house has at least one off-road parking space.  Some have two.  Mine officially has two but I can get three cars on my drive when visitors come by.

Why the fuck then, do I have to do a slalom down the road every fucking morning?  Why the fuck can't the twats down the road actually use their assigned parking spaces and driveways?

One day one of them will need an ambulance.  On that day, I might remind them that emergency access is a priority.  Not storing a fucking mattress in your car barn.

You know you're supposed to eat them and not...  Never mind.

The speed with which a five-day holiday* passes. I blinked and it was all over.

The thought of going back to the orifice tomorrow....  :-(
