The grumpy thread

There are some noises about a protest, mainly because of the way that the event has been organised (IE very very badly). There are plans for a few thousand people to walk up part of the route en-masse, and efectively become a rolling roadblock. If it goes ahead, I'll probably join in. The local council has effectively been bribed into these closures, and they are running roughshod over everyones complaints. TTROs aren't really intended for large-scale closures like this, but nevertheless, here we are.

I believe some people have resorted in the past to spreading nails and tacks on the road surface by way of protest, as well as changing direction signs and route markers....

Account cleaned out again..... no idea how is time as I refuse to do online anymore. Luckily I have a tiny bit of cash in my pocket, so can still take munchkin to meet his friends for the trampolining. Get paid next Friday and I think fridge is stocked enough....... Monday will be 'interesting' when I try and find out who the fuck 'Isolation Inc' are...... as I haven't seen anything online that makes sense.

My bank are absolutely fucking useless though so not holding out much hope. Long drawn out argument before getting back what's mine!

Nosey fuckers who think it's acceptable to "view" your house when it's for sale.

Couple just pitched up for a 12o'clock view. Out by 12.04. We've lived here 8 years and even I can't run around here that quickly

Fucks sake, want to try the Mothers interior trim cleaner/restorer 'VLR', bought a bottle on ebay, never turned up, seller gave me a full refund instead of sending another like I asked. Grump. Second ebay purchase, the seller said that they'd run out and cancelled the order.

Fucks sake. Have emailed the UK branch of Mothers asking if I can buy some directly from them.

Shouldn't be this bloody problematic unless there is suddenly a worldwide shortage.

the local swimming pool meet up on a Saturday morning , the mothers are so tight/lazy/thick they wont pay to  use the lockers to put their stuff away ,

choosing instead to lock the entrance side of the changing cubicle and then walking out to the pool ,

leaving others like my self looking for a empty changing  cubicle ...

so I walked around to the poolside of the rooms and lo and  behold , access to many changing  rooms , complete with clothes and hand bags galore ,

and this is the same place stuff goes missing !!!

But aren't the lockers just a deposit?? Ours are a quid which you get back when you put your (wrist banded) key in.

To be fair to them, I've been to view houses and decided it wasn't for me before I got out the car.

No disrespect to your house (I have no idea) but it won't be for everyone so having made an appointment it is only polite to go in and go through the motions.

Or they might suprise you with an offer.

Why has this thread jumped back to June ?

The mods will have merged some other thread into it, that always fucks up the indexing for your last read post.

Again?

FFS that's shit. I'd be looking to change banks & everything so whatever info people are using to get your cash won't work anymore.

Time to swap random items between changing rooms I'd say. Then sit back & watch them accuse each other.

To confuse and slow down the advances of a silent enemy?

What is this, war time?

I sold the X type last week as I didnt fancy welding up the sills for MOT, it's replacement, a Citroen C8 HDi auto is stuck in limp mode. I was hoping to get it fixed before I started using it but I've reached a dead end with it. Experts can't give me a definitive answer on whether it's fixable so the only option left is to donate it to the RAF and let them blow the fucking POS to bits.

On the bright side i;ve got some cash from the X to buy something else. Needs to be diesel and capable of A framing.

Couple just pitched up for a 12o'clock view. Out by 12.04. We've lived here 8 years and even I can't run around here that quickly

I have a very clear view of what I want. I go straight to the fuse box and check that it's not circa 1954 and that it's not on a payment card.

Then I view the house. The questions I am asking in each room?

1. Will this need decorating.

2. Any signs of subsidence or cracks.

3. Condition of Windows.

4. Do the doors shut.

5. Is it the size I was expecting.

6. Do I want what is covering the floor?

In the kitchen, I'm looking at whether anything looks broken.

In the back garden I'm looking at the brick work.

I reckon 4 mins to know it's unlikely I'll make an offer, and 15 mins to prprice up the fixes and get a good idea.

If there's an open house, I like to take longer and make clear negative comments to my wife so that the other fools hear me.

Got a viewing tomorrow. First with vendor and not agent.

I guess that I'm going to make an offer to them before we leave, if it's in decent condition. I've seen enough houses in the last 6 months to know if we want out and why piss around with the agent if you can talk to the person selling it.

All the information is on the the details apart from age of electrics.

I spent some time replacing the steering arms on the omega this afternoon.

DESPITE measuring the arms and adjusting them before fitting, a quick test drive of a couple of miles was enough to see evidence of inside tyre wear.

At this point I drove to the only open tyre place on a Saturday afternoon (National tyre) and formed out 29 squid for them to put it right.

They even said bring it back on 2 weeks and we'll re-check it for free.

Car seems to brake in an approximate straight line now.

Strangely the vibration on braking has gone. I suspect that the worn outer ball joint allowed the wheel to pull the car left and then the wheel would skip a little hence the vibration like the disc was warped.

Seems like there is a UK-wide shortage of Mothers interior upholstery cleaner. Well........... must be good stuff then.

Nigel Langs in Bolton set up my last Omega, they can be a bit tricky to get right

Given that I had the camber and toe set up last year, and it's just the adjustment of the steering arms (toe) that was needed due to replacement I think It'll be fine.

POD - why anti payment card? I love them.

They’ll not break in to fit prepayment meters when a feckless tenant fails to pay the bill if you already have them

Usually front and rear toe steering arms are usually seized solid, too.

I've just agreed to sell my Disco 300 TDi :-(

Very mixed emotions... I don't need it, and can't justify repairing it again for its MOT in a week's time, and it's going to a good home, but...I'm also gutted. I love that car.

Sigh...

Because the tenant can't get the best price available to Online direct debit customers, effectively penalizing the poor.

My politics don't like it.

IRONIC....,??

They were pleased to be dealing with new arms.

Yes I'd bet they were. Did you grease them up when you assembled them? If not they'll have welded themselves together within a year.

Is it strictly legal that a company can force you to use a payment method owned by them, and which will add more £££ to their coffers for each transaction made?
