The sun is shining so a day doing outdoor shite, despite the cold.

It has just started bloody snowing.

Biffed a neighbors car this morning, then drove to work as I was late, which I now feel bad about. Will pop round later with my insurance details. Great start to the day, I'll wave goodbye to my 4 quid a month insurance saving now...

Much damage? Sound neighbor? Can't you come to an arrangement with them?

Some pond life keyed Domestic Management's C3 yesterday.  Fortunately, it doesn't look too deep and it's only on two panels.  Annoying, though.

Can anyone please recommend a paint magician convenient to WS12?

By arrangement do you mean a swap?

Depending on the cost, when we had that happen, painter quoted £500 but recommended leaving it for 3 months.

Apparently if someones fell out with you they do it again as soon as you paint it.

I got such a stupid bit of road rage directed at me earlier.

I was turning right into the street where I live, so I had my right indicator on a couple of seconds before I started braking (from the whopping 20mph limit). The car behind me didn't slow down until the last second, nearly ran into the back of me, then leaned on their horn as they squeezed down my nearside and fucked off.

Once I was back home I confirmed that all my indicators are indeed functioning perfectly. My conclusion is that the driver of the silver SEAT was just an inattentive cunt.

I was also at a funeral for an old family friend this morning, which doesn't help my mood any. 61 he was, died of a catastrophic stroke last Friday. What a day for it. Standing on the side of a hill in the snow in rural Aberdeenshire as they lowered the coffin is something that will stick with me the rest of my days.

^^ Oh man, please get a grip.

Thank you for your sensitivity and understanding.

You always meet wankers like seatman at the best of times like that...

Talking of DVLA, is there any point in demanding interest on the tax refund they aren't paying me?

I had the Bo11ox Rover for ten days, all of which were within September. I taxed it because I try to be a law abiding person, and decided that it was best to pay the six months up front. With a few days of September left I transferred it to FOAD's name. The refund cheque didn't arrive, and it turns out you have to wait six weeks before you can even ask for it. I emailed them after the six weeks and got a reply saying it had been passed to another department for investigation and I would have to wait another six weeks. I wish I'd just winged it now.

Letter before action followed by money claims on line ? They won't turn up, you will win by default, and they will ignore the court decision and you can then pay extra for court baliffs to visit them.

Thank you for your sensitivity and understanding.

Noticed that you edited your post to add the last paragraph after I'd posted my comment.

Apologies for my comment now but I couldn't have forseen the further info added re your family friend which you edited in later. Without the final paragraph (posted at the end!!?) it was either a bit drama queen or totally taking the piss.

Sorry for your loss bud. I too have attended funerals in rural Aberdeenshire.

So I'm grumpy as fuck right now. Last week they asked us to work this coming sunday to which I said I was unavailable. Yesterday morning I get called into the office and get the boss screaming in my face and threatened with being sacked immediately. Now, I know he can't do that but 'cos I'm a fucking wimp I folded and said Id go in but right now I'm fucking furious with myself. I really need to stay in this job, if only to finish my NVQ which will open up innumerable doors and basically double my wage, but I don't think I could look myself in the eye knowing I let that old bastard bully me into doing something I had every right to decline.

I could simply not show-up on sunday, which would feel fucking fantastic and screw the job completely as I have the keys to the site but it could jeopardise everything I've worked for these past 5 years and invested nearly £5000 in to, and cost me what is 99% of the time a very good job. But it would also mean I'm basically a fucking coward who is unable to stand-up for himself.

I got a crank sensor from ECP for my van. Same story, fitted the engine but not the loom. I was up against it so I snipped the keying grooves off the connector so it would plug in. Obviously it turned out to be completely the wrong type of sensor and didn't work, plus now I couldn't take it back.

It wasn't that expensive, I suppose.

3rd grump, We were supposed to be going to London for a lovely days shopping etc tomorrow, daughter and wife are now spooked by the non event at Oxford Circus tube station so don't want to go, fair do's as they both had a very, very close shave at the Manchester Arena  :-(   Fucking Knobhead terrorists

Nothing going on in London apparently -someone jumped the gun. Of course terrorists don’t actually need to do anything to cause terror, just suggest it.

Y0, does this consist of a small metal peg attached to the engine block with 2 bolts ,just above the gearbox?

If so I just cleaned mine with a wee silversmiths file and its been fine for well over a year.

I presume you cleaned the very tip of it?

Sometimes the wiring can go brittle, i believe certain replacements are supplied with a replacement piece of loom.

Are you actually sure it is a crank sensor fault ? I went out to a micra today that the AA diagnosed as crank sensor. Inserted the spare key and it fired straight up. It was the chip in the key went tits up so check the easy things first. The customer had 2 cars and neither would run. The Micra was pretty easy and did catch me out that it was something so simple. The Peugeot 206 diagnosed with a snapped cambelt just needed a jump start. The poor old thing did smoke a bit and was low on coolant so might have other issues but as I was there as a favour I wasn't going to spend all afternoon sorting it out. If in doubt get a code reader on it before chucking random parts to fix a problem.

The Civic has started generating a rather horrible smell in the cabin once it gets warm. Sort of a mix of melting plastic and shit.

Was hoping I was imagining it but the bird confirmed it's real, will have to sort that out as the heater spends most of it's time maxed out at this time of the year...

I'm trying not to sound like some tight old git but we've just come to some 'Xmas market' thing at the Hepworth. It's a bit out of town so people have walked a bit or paid for parking.

You get in the door and on my then see the big sign for £1 entry fee. I just think this is being a twat. Why charge to look some stalls?
