The grumpy thread

I've been to Centre Parcs loads.

My ex used to work in the Parc Mart, and I'd drive in to pick her up after her shift. Basically drive to security, mention the shop by name and they let you in.

As an employee you could apply for last minute holidays - her aunt was a cleaner, so double chances. Summat like £20 got you a villa for the weekend.

Then I moved into a house about 6 years ago about a mile away, and there's loads of nice cycle paths through the woodland behind into Sherwood Pines forest park. If you ride along the perimeter fence, there's loads of gaps where locals get in and use the pool for free. Or some of 'em just nick the bikes and break into chalets.

Villas. They're called villas. Never call them Chalets.

Anyway, it's quite a pleasant place, although they do the same thing as every other money grabbing holiday destination in the UK which is to put the price up by 500% every school holiday.

I hate to crack open the complains but the proliferation of unnecessary threads is really boiling my balls. There needs to be an element of self policing here. Have some consideration for people with very limited data on slow, creaky old phones and for those who aren't on here 24/7 and who miss the gold because it's quickly battered down to the depths by the weight of threads about someone having a flat tyre or just a link to a newspaper article that's already been flagged up twice before or a picture of a car with no bonnet or someone having a flat battery or . . . etc.

The Grin, Grump, News, Stupid Question and Sales threads cover most eventualities and are there for a reason.

I'm off to sit in the unpopular whinging bastard corner now so you can point any disapproving looks in that direction.

Have you tried Opera Mini? It's good for limiting data usage and is usable even on a 2G connection, I believe the forum works well on it too.

Doesn't help with filtering out the drivel mind you.

I know it's fashionable to say good riddance 2016 on this thread, but I had a lovely 2016

A long lovely summer of dry days and highest temperatures on record helped but most people forget that

Did Santa no give you a decent phone with a AS-volume data plan?

It's the nature of the beast. As the powers that be along with bulk of users have decided that there are no list of rules, minimal moderation and bugger all subsections.

What you need is some sort of AutoShite Aggregator that picks out your version of solid gold threads based on preferences and previously viewed. Trouble is though, the suspension will probably leak and sag and the tracking will be out and pull to one side all the time.

As a bonus it's great for porn on payg sims apparently.

Not on my phone it wasn't. I had to make the phone call of shame because one of my Flickr contacts was in the habit of getting her tits out and as a result my Flickr homepage was marked as an adult site.

Can nissan note's be driven at more than 40 mph?

Sick of being stuck behind the bastard things - ususlly being driven by somebody who looks like they have just dug themselves out of the ground.

I think you may be right on both counts....My old man just got one, he is 80 next year.   This is the man who once brought home a Plymouth Fury......

Luckily he lives 3000 miles away so I am unlikely to have it outside my house anytime soon.

I've had 50 out of mine, but it sent my tartan rug flying off the back shelf, dislodging a box of tissues and an almost full bag of Werthers, so I will be more careful in future  :-D

"I'm desperate for an alternator for my XYZ, can you sell me yours???"

-Agree price, go outside in the freezing cold and remove alternator, which involves removing engine mounts and moving the engine

"Hey, I've got your alternator!"

SOUND OF SILENCE.

Oh dear, I was thinking of getting one to replace Mrs Concern's dead Mk1 Clio. Aren't they shite after all?

And so the tedious wank of getting anything done it Torbay begins again. The sounds of people desperate to take my cash is inaudible.

They probably won't be open until tomorrow morning, Dave...   ;)

TAKE PAYMENT FIRST...

Absolutely correct. They even offered to pay but I told them to hold fire until I'd got it off and made sure it was OK to sell. It's in the scrap motor pile now.

Sister's focus is still on mothers driveway. Apart from buyer saying he will send a wagon after winning auction nothing has been heard.

I have sent him another message - this will be the last one.

No doubt he will end up with negative feedback and I will still have to pay the fees.

Just got my car started after two days on and off trying/charging/fiddling to get it fired after it refused to allow me to take it to Heathrow on Sunday morning.  Jumped it off the Herald in the end.  Warmed up and idled as good as ever.  Its a grump because I'm absolutely none the wiser as to why it wouldn't go.

Only thing it might be I suppose is the battery droping too many volts when cranking so will need to test that once it is cold again.

Happy new year from paypal. Before xmas some git charged back a £7 order as 'I didn't buy that honest'. Poopal says upload proof of postage and you're covered under seller protection. So I did, printout from royal mail account page.

I checked today and 'I've not used an approved delivery method', so they've given twunt £7 back, and charged me an additional £14 for random fees. Nice.
