It was indeed Mr. Imp. Probably the only carpeted headlining in a Volvo and a modification I can't recommend enough.
Might even work in Maestros and Range Rovers!

Shame about your Volvo rml but looks like it did its job and protected you, cars can at least be replaced.  I doubt you'll have a hard time finding a suitable replacement on here.

In other news, I just heard something that speaks volumes about the role of the domestic garage in modern society. My dad was putting the car away and a passing young lad asked 'why are you putting your car in there?' as it was obviously a totally alien concept to him that a car goes in a garage. When I was young that was obvious but I guess nowadays the garage has just become another room and the car lives outside. I think we're unique in this street for having a double garage with two cars in.

 

And a final grump - while typing this message I pressed something by accident and it closed down Firefox so I had to start again. I wish I knew what it was I pressed as I've never managed to do that before.

If anyone has a 340 and a ratchet strap, I reckon I could fix* that 740.  Seriously though, I'm happy to hear you're okay.  I bet the old tank drove like nothing was wrong with it either, someone I know managed to write off a 740 saloon by making one side 6" shorter than the other and putting a crease in the roof (don't ask) and that drove perfectly fine afterwards all the way to the oval where it went on to do rather well.

My work mate who I've sat next too for the last 4 years on break and car shared with for the last 3 years died tonight at 11pm.

 

41 is no age at all, leaving 2 young children and his wife, completely gutted at work tonight, we are all in shock, it all stemmed from blood in his piss, they removed a kidney but it came back and spread into his spine and fucked him up. RIP Andy.
