so i booked (a not cheap) flight and picking the seats took photos of the screen as booking so if they changed them or cocked about id have proof it was mine

all through getting the time i want put deets they want in and bosh booked

read the confirmation email to check theyve got it all right and

behold the out is the early choice which is not what id picked

i was not happy so went on the website to change it

yessir thatll be xxx

ok fair enuff (at this stage i thought it was my mistake)

bear with me

tried to change it and pay for the correct time

message at the top we're sorry cannot for the time and date youve picked please pick another time

tried it twice and it wouldnt let me

fuckya - CANCEL YOU YA BASTARD

cancelled it then went to see if it would be a partial refund or complete

went onto their website and bot - but the little choices were cancel and change and some others - click the change and it comes up with if cancelled within 24 hours FULL REFUND

i look at the seat pic with the seat number and just above it it has the origin, destination and the time

which was the evening time like id asked for!!??!!?!!11one1!!! :D

why did it change between picking the seats and the payment????

no idea but im gonna find out tomorrow - if they argue i have evidence WITH the time on it :D

fuck sake

the flight i wanted to avoid will have to be booked as i now dont want to deal with this lot (and theyre not a fly by night jobbie - no pun intended)

min rant (sort of) over

thanks for watching

Went down to the car park earlier and the council have stuck an abandoned vehicle ticket on the Mazda.  Which isn't unexpected - it's been sat there for a while with no MOT or tax and it is a bit of an eyesore.  However the twats have also ticketed the Renault 4, which is taxed, insured and in regular use - I spent half the weekend fitting a new pissing driveshaft to it FFS.  I'm wondering whether it's because it doesn't have an MOT (because exempt), but then neither do the Renault 6 or the Visa, which were parked either side of the 4, and neither of those got a ticket.

It's my birthday soon. The Mrs asked if I fancied anything particular.

I said a replica Jens-Martin Knudsen bobble hat.

Apparently I'm silly 😔

Over the years I've come to dread getting presents. They are never what you want. And they sit around forever reproaching you for lack of gratitude.

If I give presents I try to make them something that will be used up almost immediately, probably by being eaten or drunk.

Booked Ma a flu jab on the superdrug website. Went there today, 1 flu jab plz.

We haven't got any vaccine, there's no pharmacist, and you haven't got an appointment.

~Shows email confirmation of appointment~

That's from the superdrug website, we don't use that. (??????????) Earliest we can offer is 10th October.

What a shower of shit. So now playing the check every chemist in 5 mile radius game. We're not stupid enough to go to her docs after last time. Let's invite half the town to come at the same time, jam them inside to form a super spreader event for the 2 hour wait while they come out one at a time shouting "Gerald Ratner? Anyone here called Gerald?"

Have let a message with the recommended pest controller. Looking with binoculars on the outside there are plenty of wasps coming and going in the corner of the roof. The thing is, it’s my wall they’re behind, but not getting to the inside through my bit of roof, can hear the buzzing and crackling noises behind the rectangular area, but loudest in circle.

As a goal , I don’t think world peace is very achievable, but could we not have a “Say no to tat, Christmas”.?

Citroen Gods do not like odd numbered dates when it's dark & raining - be fine tomorrow, honest.

I actually managed to get the job done during a gap in the rain, imprudent test drive in the dark & pissing rain at 8pm didn't end in catastrophe either. Happy days.
Woke up at 5am realising that I have forgotten to clip up the O/S ABS wire - feckit, go look or more coffee? Coffee/AS wins

Jesus. No wonder everybody uses FB marketplace these days ...

Fuck them. I try to avoid their fees wherever possible. I have a little wordpress site set up with my burner SIM contact details and put the address in the listings. You get away with that and also seem to be doing OK sending screenshots of phone numbers. Some people put a phone number on a scrap of paper in the listing photos.

If you sell a lot of the same thing you can also set up a Facebook page and try to get sales that way.

I take payment through Sumup for most people on credit/debit card which is <2% fees. Or PayPal via business account is about 3%.

There's nothing wrong with a listing service charging for its advertising reach and finding a buyer.

But... 26%!!! On your fucking bike. That's whack. 10% I can grudgingly live with. They've got to pay people and apparently not pay tax.

Most recent thing I sold was a Starlink kit which seemed to be going for anywhere between £350-450. I listed it as an auction with low start and it did attract a few bids. However a bloke offered £350 to buy it now. On the face of it that's a low offer, but he was collecting. No post or packing risk and hassle.

I did try to amend the advert to add a BIN price but it wouldn't let me, the rules about this are unfathomable.

So I sent him a photo of my hand-written mobile number and he came with cash that evening.

No fees, no comeback (it's broken/don't like it/postage damage scam etc) and ice got the cash ready to pay for the boiler repair next week.

No guilt involved, they get plenty off me from stuff I buy and sell. Fuck them. They are basically a monopoly now hence the outrageous selling fees. They also manage to cleverly conceal their final fees by tricking you into thinking you'll only pay the pennies required for the listing fee.

I sell alot of vacuums to other collectors directly nowadays, unless it's something very special. I've learnt there's a good £40/50 tolerance between maybe it going well on ebay AND the winning bidder pays (very common in the vacuum cleaner world sadly) then minus fee's to just doing someone a happy price and getting it gone quickly and painlessly!

It's partly my fault as it kept prompting me to use their advertising feature. The guitar wasn't selling and said if I use this service it would take 11% of the sale but it made out it would be 11% plus the listing fee not 11% plus another 15%.

I'd have been better off just selling it on facebook for £500

Major cockup made. Bought a gig ticket back in March for a gig tonight. Email confirmation said 'you'll receive the tickets 4-6 weeks before'. Also said 'we are unable to deliver your tickets please contact us' in small print. Didn't think anything of it, I thought their system just couldn't handle the fact they weren't sending them out that early (they had given special instructions for the venue in question)

Of course I only clock this last night when I look for the tickets (they're meant to send a link to a PDF via SMS). Support for the ticket site I used (sadly not Ticketmaster/See or direct with the venue, as I bought them under a presale through O2 Priority) is only open 9 til 5, online only, no live chat or anything like that. Rang box office this morning, they can see the booking but can't resend the link, advised that if I come down with proof tonight they might (and only might) be able to sort something.

So that's £50 up the swanny if not. Not sure what recourse I have.

I was going to say 26% sounds way off.
I use eBay all the time to sell my cameras and the total take is about 15% which I reckon is fair enough given the audience you reach and the relatively smooth transaction. Old cameras probably don't attract the same kind of dregs of society as cars but I'm happy paying that to avoid the great unwashed coming to my door. Most eBay sellers just jack the price up to compensate.

I feel this isn't going to be smooth sailing, I've asked the guy twice for an email or phone number I can enter when booking the courier and both times he's sent me back his delivery address.

My plan was to get the Caddy valeted and up for sale on here on Monday.  Took it out just now to do an IKEA run, and halfway there get very limited performance and a flashing glow plug light.

Sigh...

Of course I don't have a code reader which can talk to this, but from memory this is a symptom which is rarely good news.

Put your own details in, make sure its sent insured so when they lose it you can spend eternity claiming the money back you can have peace of mind and then offload it.

Probably not the cause because of the associated limited performance, but VWs use a flashing glow light to indicate the brake light circuit isn't working.

Had that on a Leon - confused the hell out of me until I internetted. Along with the stupid "red oil warning means 'top up soon'" which causes you to sh*t yourself for no good reason on the motorway.

Cheerfully milling into replacing one of the rear brake pipes on my e46. It needed cutting in two places, either side of the fuel tank.  Cut in front of the fuel tank, flared and temporarily capped off. Lovely.

Cut the crusty joint to the Flexi off. Oh that's a lot of fluid. Oh. Bugger.

Cut the wrong one in front of the tank didn't I? Now I've got two of the fuckers to run over the tank.

Giving the car /dish washing  fluid that makes your hands softer a swerve and replaced it with some supermarket germ killing washing up fluid . Seems my increased use of the stuff since I stopped working by doing more washing up at home has resulted in some excema and soreness , which has now reduced a lot thanks to the change of washing up fluid .....

Went to my best mates funeral on Thursday, the first day we have ever closed the business. Came in to work on Friday to 39 missed calls and a now broken phone. Looking into it the 39 missed calls were from three numbers. We have an answer-phone which two eventually left messages. There is no ringtone or dial tone on the phone so on Friday we missed loads of calls but phoned back. It's a VOIP phone from BT business. Phoned the (probably Indian) call centre and the guy couldn't understand that the phone was broken if I was calling from that phone. Anyway he said he would send an exchange one out for Monday morning. Hasn't arrived obviously.

Came into work this morning and took the back off the phone. The speaker for the ringtone has a volume dial around the speaker itself.Wound it up a bit and now the phone works normally. So the constant phone calls must have vibrated the volume dial down to nothing. The two who eventually left messages are booked in for Thursday and Friday respectfully. They will both find out I was not happy with the constant ringing.

I phoned up our MOT station last week to book a few tests in, and for the 5 minutes or so I was on the line, another phone was CONSTANTLY ringing and ringing and ringing in the background.

Eventually my line went quiet, there was loud thud and FUCK OFF in the background and then a "sorry mate"

No prizes for guessing what remedial action was taken to deal with that caller 😂
