Did the builders leave them there? :)

Seriously though, you need to get it sorted sharpish, they're good escape merchants.

So after replacing the coils, leads, plugs, plug caps and a good scrub down for the carburettor the Trabant is still running like absolute shite. The idle searches quite badly, it kangaroos when driving and is insanely down on power its been upgraded to electronic ignition so can't be points or condensers. I took the plugs out and cylinder 1 looks to be running leaner than cylinder 2. I'm wondering if the base gasket for cylinder 1 has failed and is sucking in air? Or possibly the inlet manifold gasket has failed. I may be looking at a top end rebuild

These antisocial cunts are something we used to have to suffer on a daily basis when we lived in Essex. The poor dogs were petrified (all the neighbours ones as well) and it was literally the same three or four cars bombing down the road then letting go of the throttle so it would bang on the overrun.
One particular twat in a Fiesta I actually moaned at because he was the noisiest and most prevalent of the lot. He laughed and bombed it away, but…I never heard/saw him again, so maybe he started going a different route to avoid me?

This sounds like anti-motorist rhetoric.

I think as a society we need to be grown-up and realistic about the impact cars have on city centres.  That's not to say they should be banned but alternative methods of transport should be encouraged and available.  Sadly, most city centres are keen on making things as difficult as they can for the motorist without offering decent alternatives or taking into account edge cases like those with disabilities.

It's yet another thing that is totally fucked. They don't want people to use cars, yet they continually cut back on bus services and train travel is borderline inviable due to the price and quality of services. There are whole towns round here on the outskirts of the city that don't get served by buses meaning people pretty much HAVE to commute to car.

It doesn't seem to matter who you vote for either, at least with local government the parties always seem to have the same policies.

Finally, it's not pissing down, brake cleaner has been delivered and I can get the sprog's car back together.
Cambelt - check
Drive belt - check
Oil/coolant refilled - check
Brakes in/on/wheel refitted - check
Formal gather round 'we name this ship....'
Turn key
Click.
Fuck, fuckety fucking fuck. Battery is at 12.3 volts - either it's shagged, the boot light has drained it or the Gods are just having a laugh. Or all three.
That's not made me grumpy though - it's the bloody midges tonight - I'm eaten in places that even my wife doesn't get to see.

Good luck. I forgot to plug the throttle body back in when I did my first belt on my xantia 🤣 Fired up fine then died. Repeat about 3 times getting more panicked by the second.

Throttle body contained the anti stall valve... Fired up and idled fine after plugging it in!

Hope it's something simple for you

Our loft is full of wasps.  What fun.  There's a huge nest in the shed as well.  That's two item retrieval missions in three days I've had to abort because of the buggers.

There was one in eldest daughter's shed.  Youngest daughter went in, grabbed the nest and ran outside with it, chucked it over the fence into the bushes of the park.

She came out unscathed but I wouldn't recommend it.

As soon as I get rid of a nest , a new one is set up yards away. First I found one on the shed, removed it and two days later there’s one on the other side of the same shed.

Got rid of that and they move on to the house under the roof tiles. Got rid of them and they’ve moved 4 ft along the roof.

Pretty sure I destroyed the nest and so the queen. At least they’re small nests .

I can confirm that spray carpet adhesive into the entrance works well.  (You do have to go inside for a few hours to be safe)

A lot of people in city centres don’t have cars. If a councillor stands on an anti car ticket , they will get votes,  especially if they “promise” better public transport and turning the roads over to cyclists.

The councillors don't say what they are really going to do. They say they want to keep the library open, and extend the swimming pool opening hours.

They don't mention, charging a quid to park in the free library car park or introducing double yellow lines outside the swimming pool, to force you to pay £3 to park.

They don't mention that they are going to cut children's special needs provision to pay for a Twinning ceremony with a town in Greece. In Greece.

Rule no 1 in local government.

There’s aways money for vanity projects.

Rule no 2

”Cuts” must always start with anything affecting vulnerable people. ( and then we blame the government).

This was 100% the battery - trickle charged overnight and it started first turn of the key this morning. Not sure if its the battery or a current drain so I'll just get the test leads out over the next week before we drop it down to him. At his place he has to park out in resident's parking so it's not ideal if the electrics play up - methinks he'll invest in one of those little power pack things

Painful operation on my big toe a few weeks ago. Managed to be careful for two days, got bored, went to the garage and dropped a ratchet on it. Being careful again a week later, I ran it over pushing a moped. Being careful again today, I ran it over with a trails type motorbike.

Please, whatever you do, don't be careless - it could be fatal at this rate :)

Hoping for speed awareness course!

She moved her car and let me go after 30 mins, I kept calm and tried to be as polite as possible but after going round in circles and getting no where ended up having to swear at her which got her to move ( I regret having to do this )

Causing an obstruction to the public highway? Criminal offence.
