I'm sure it's a damn sight easier for us to read it than it is for her to type it. Like the guy who needs to use a different font. Hope you got the service done OK, 240girl

I’ve had a serious bout of can’t be bothered today and didn’t get up until 11, despite planning an 8 mile walk before heading to the GSAmi rally.

Two mass murders in USA, some 17 yr old has thrown a child off a tenth floor balcony

And then when I do get dressed at 2pm because the lemon i need for my dinner is purple and furry and so I need to drive to buy one,  the bloody exhaust falls off the damned car. Most expensive lemon in the world!

I wonder if that's another one involving mental health issues.

The police have said they have no connection to the victim, witnesses say the suspect was calm after the incident. Sounds likely.

I have driven past the Bar in Dayton a few times.  It's about 4 miles from my sister's house.

Tis KO.

I was told to type everything in Aerial 14 with a double space between each line to help with that.

People don't like the size of my reports at work, but hey, they can read them.

Stopped the 'ol energy drinks a few years back, several cans of Monster a day were having an adverse effect on health.

The morning coffee, however, was much needed. Short day at least, I'll be home by 15:00.

After the MoT fail with the Merc last Thursday, I stripped the nsr wheel to find the handbrake shoe worn out. Investigation showed siezed expander, sorted it and so parts ordered and collected today.

Hours job I thought. Ha fucking ha. Four hours of fucking about, assembling, disassembling before I finally realised that the HBoL was actually correct (you have to pretension the handbrake before dismantling) and that the expander had a second problem that needed the attention of the bfo hammer. Admittedly, having a border collie that thinks dropping toys in amongst the work area is good fun as 'daddy' will throw them away for him to retrieve doesn't help.

Half hour after sorting the second problem all back together.

Tomorrow the front flexible brake pipes. Want to bet that will involve a lot more swearing.

It could be worse, Bob the dog (a terrierist) preferred to pick tools up and run away with them, either chewing the handles and/or burying them.

I also remember my uncle's collie cocking his leg and peeing on his head when he was under the car.

Bucking fastarding simplest of jobs tonight.

Oil change on the Audi.

20190805_184240.thumb.jpg.ee4e9f9d2714425a82192558db701b1c.jpg

Clear blue skies all day then 1 CLOUD about a mile square comes over MY HOUSE and rains heavily for AN HOUR just after I had drained the oil.

Then there was the filter. It's a north/South engine and the filter is at the back of the block, pointing towards the nearside and down at about 45 degrees. I had changed the oil and filter only in February but it was stuck fast. It took me about 2 hours to remove it with my stupid weak and floppy filter strap. I'm going to buy a filter chain.

Check out the old filter, it looks like the Hulk had a go at it. That's how much force I had to use to remove the bastard.

Ripped my finger on something too, this was after I'd cleaned it up a bit.

The NHS must waste billions every year , my son had an xray for scoliosis then a few weeks later they sent him for an MRI scan

7 months on he gets an appointment , hospital is a 30 mile round trip , he has work in the afternoon so I take him

15 minutes and he's out , all they said was the gap between xray and MRI wasn't long enough to spot any changes so nothing to report

So 1 patient has had an unnecessary mri scan and taken up a doctor's valuable time to be told nothing

Multiply that by every hospital in the uk and it must be £££ wasted, they could've put that in a letter

I remember doing the oil filter on the 1.8T A4 I used to have. It was the same layout. I ended up hammering a screwdriver through the bastard thing to get it out.

That's better to hear. Wish my cousin would stop being dependent to energy drinks.

I finally managed to get myself over to the unit to sort out the rust repair on that door I'd chopped most of the bottom off.  Cutting out the repair panel I sliced my thumb open pretty spectacularly, just as well I'm one of those sorts it's difficult to get blood out of otherwise it would've made a right old mess.  Got about halfway through the welding in of the new piece and the welding gas ran out.  Because of the Princess head work, there isn't the spare funds for a few more weeks now to get the gas replenished.

Another spanner was thrown in the house move recently when my other half's landlord gave notice on the place he's in which I'd started to move my stuff, including furniture, into.  So it's back to being in limbo again.  A house has been viewed with a hope to purchase (not a great hope, given our track record so far) but the sale won't complete before the tenancy expires and we're now looking at single occupancy options to broaden the options on a rental property.  That means my house move is stalled AGAIN, because single occupancy means just that, there'd be no space for me so I have to stay in the north east living out of boxes.  We can't even make plans to see one another in person, 300 miles each way makes a 'quick visit' pretty much impossible for either of us, you have to spend pretty much a whole day driving just getting there and back.

All we want is to live in the same house and to get on with our lives but this has been the most infuriating house move I've ever experienced.  We've been messed about so many times it's unreal.  All we can do is work and plod on as best we can in the hope this doesn't drag on for as many years as it has so far.

This particular house move saga began in November 2016 when we started looking for a place in earnest.  Location, house type and size are all dictated by work requirements (we're both self-employed, it makes things extra awkward),  inflated prices of the south east, and an impossible string of awkward sellers and bad luck means we're no closer now than we were when we began the endeavour and I can tell you it's wearing very thin at this particular point in time.  So far it has managed to reinforce every single negative opinion I've ever acquired about the people and business practices of the south east.

Fucking Lancaster insurance company!

I was trying to insure the Rover, only to be told that 'We can't insure this type of vehicle'

But because they now know I don't have the BMW, they have written to me to say they are cancelling the policy. Which means I will be charged the cancellation fee, which will be pretty much the rest of the policy. I have 7 days to insure another vehicle.

Does anyone have a 'classic' that is off the road I could 'insure'? Not sure what else to do, I'd rather keep the policy open in case I end up with a second car which they can insure.

Had a walk up to our local shop earlier, can't go near it normally for all the smokers outside the pub and usually use the local-ish Aldis and Lidls.

Car is in Scotland on holiday so have to walk, not my preferred mode of locomotion.

Only wanted milk, bread and fruit/veg.

The first two OK, bread took some finding.

No fruit or veg other than tinned but several aisles and chillers filled with a very impressive range of booze.

I suppose it is people like me to blame for using the larger shops and supermarkets but a very limited range of goods available.

There is a better one about half an hour's walk away.  Bugger that in this heat.
