I searched Google for that image of a Bitter, because I've spotted that exact car in central London before.

Turns out the image is from a YouTube video of that guy reviewing the car in Chinese.

Knock on the door earlier this evening .

Two Coppers standing there, Unmarked S80 Traffic car at the end of the drive, I shit myself thinking it's bad news( seen too many Police Interceptors and similar)

One of them says are you NorfolkNWeigh?

I admit I am.

We're making enqiries about a black C Class Mercedes registered to you that's parked in a posh village a couple of miles away.

Yes says I , what about it?

Well, the residents are concerned that it hasn't moved for a few weeks.

Presumably, says I , you've checked that it's Taxed, MOT'd and on the insurance database ?

They nodded.

And there are no restrictions regarding parking and it isn't causing an obstruction ?

No, they agreed, there's no problem.

So, the only problem is that a load of stuck up twattish village idiots are offended by an old car parked in their village( opposite my dad's house and near to the gates of The Old Rectory , the owners of which are clients of mine and know about the car)

Yes agrees the copper, sorry to waste your time !

With that they get back in the Volvo and go back to ,presumably, some real Police work.

WTF?

People moaning about people moaning in the moan thread.

Also... Chelsea tractor drivers: before anyone leaps up, I do not begrudge you your choice of conveyance. I would, however, greatly appreciate it if you could please KEEP THE FUCKING THING ON YOUR SIDE OF THE ROAD. Thank you.

I believe those types buy a big vehicle because they're very bad at driving, in the hope that everyone else gets out of their way, so they don't have to manoeuvre through tight* gaps etc.

Alternatively, you could have been grateful the local residents were concerned. I'm sure your interpretation would have been slightly less smug if it had been nicked and dumped there.

WTF?

I've had this too.

"It's taxed. It's insured. It's MoTd. It's not reported stolen and it's secure and legally parked outside a house I own, but don't live in. My tenant knows it's there and who owns it. What are you doing here?"

"Sorry to bother you."

Well, they were going to tell you about the paint-stripper over the bonnet and "Cock Piss Partridge" aerosoled down the sides, but then you got all Smug on their asses, so they accidentally forgot. Oh well.

My problem is with the busy bodies that phoned the Police, thus wasting their valuable time .

There are only about 10 houses there, if they'd just asked either FathaN , who's house it's opposite or the owners of the house who's gates it's near to, either would have told them who it belongs to. Instead they went whining to the Old Bill ,wanting it removed. I guarantee the twat who reported it had no concern about the owner of a tatty old Merc.

Tomorrow I might take a couple of other legal cars over there.

i know, lets watch a dvd video thing.

Agreed MM,  All these channels and I resorted to watching the 1990 One Foot In The Grave christmas special on DVD.

Now the Porridge christmas special is on BBC2, thank goodness.

Conclusion is that we have so many channels all mostly filled with new crap, utter crap!

Once upon a time the notable locals would have sent over a party and just sorted you out so you never left your property on their patch. Be glad you were treated with courtesy, be sad these people exist. Shame that someone got away with a real crime in the meantime.

I remember you thought I was lucky to not be shot by the security services* while passing through a railway station with some cooking oil - some would say dumping chod in a posh village is almost as criminal.

Ref suicides, there's been 2 in no time round here of people topping themselves by lying on the railway tracks. N 2 horses as well (possibly not suicides). Must be fucking awful to be driving a train, see it coming and know there's nothing you can do.

The training for such an eventuality is to engage full braking and look at the floor but even if you manage to do so it must be bloody horrific.

Saw a programme a while ago about tube drivers who have "one under" and it was enlightening to say the least!!

Also, I remember on traffic cops a few years ago with the deranged Swedish women on the M6 that fled from the cops by running into the live lanes, one got run over by a truck and they showed you the driver and he looked like the world had fallen out of his arse.

Grim viewing.

Fucking hell.

To just get up again like that after being hit so hard by a car that she dented the roof like that, and then attack the police officers trying to help.

Incredible that they released a woman who had only days earlier been convinced that paramedics were going to steal her organs, and run across a live motorway, to fend for herself. Sad it ended with her stabbing someone who tried to help her. And incredible for his family to recognise she wasn't to blame.

The one that got hit by a car killed a man two days later. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ursula_and_Sabina_Eriksson

I'm not sure this is correct but I seem to remember that doctors couldn't agree what the hell their issue was so no conviction came of it. I think they moved to the states afterwards.

Edit: Seems she was sentenced to five years for manslaughter with diminished responsibility. Served three before being let out on parole. Ursula seems to be back in the states and Sabina in Norway. Mot much information out there as to what happened to them (beyond the MK Ultra conspiracies) and I wouldn't be surprised if they have changed their identities. In any case I wouldn't want to be anywhere near them and goodness knows what might happen if they met again.

50 minute program on them (although it's all swimmy and low quality):

Well the 'assessor' turned up this morning to see our damaged ST.

I expected an expert, I got someone young from a garage who really didn't give a shit and had no people skills (he asked about damage to the door when he meant chips on the leading edge from hitting the fence).

By the looks on it he's just going to recommend writing it off and wouldn't really speak with us about it other than to point out damage.

Says the drives side suspension is out of alignment and about a 4 inch section of inner wing is bent so 'it's not looking good' didn't help that big bits of rust were hidden on the strut top by the lights that you can now see.

Wife's pretty pissed off with it all as they said it's her fault and there's no way they'll pay out enough to cover the costs of repairs for what I think is very minor damage.

Its what I don't understand about insurance companies. They would write my car off than pay for it to be fixed yet last week they totally replaced a door costing about £1500 on my friends TT. I know it's all about how much potential money they could make but it doesn't help the car owner.

Clearly, you're not going to accept their first offer and you will be retaining the car for salvage...

You are correct sir! Tbh if the car was newer there would be no question in them fixing it as the damage is so minor.

I lost the whole front end of a mk1 Fiesta when they were really cheap but as it wasn't my fault they just fixed it, this time it's a bit different.

Tis a very shit time of year when people pass away....

My brother in law, on dialysis for last 12 years, shrugged off bowel cancer, heart problems, a couple of small strokes and always kept his joy for life and sense of humour through everything.

A couple of weeks ago he had what seemed like a minor bump on the head and died 12 hours later. Funeral was Friday...........
