Fucking hell.

To just get up again like that after being hit so hard by a car that she dented the roof like that, and then attack the police officers trying to help.

Incredible that they released a woman who had only days earlier been convinced that paramedics were going to steal her organs, and run across a live motorway, to fend for herself. Sad it ended with her stabbing someone who tried to help her. And incredible for his family to recognise she wasn't to blame.

The one that got hit by a car killed a man two days later. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ursula_and_Sabina_Eriksson

I'm not sure this is correct but I seem to remember that doctors couldn't agree what the hell their issue was so no conviction came of it. I think they moved to the states afterwards.

Edit: Seems she was sentenced to five years for manslaughter with diminished responsibility. Served three before being let out on parole. Ursula seems to be back in the states and Sabina in Norway. Mot much information out there as to what happened to them (beyond the MK Ultra conspiracies) and I wouldn't be surprised if they have changed their identities. In any case I wouldn't want to be anywhere near them and goodness knows what might happen if they met again.

50 minute program on them (although it's all swimmy and low quality):

Well the 'assessor' turned up this morning to see our damaged ST.

I expected an expert, I got someone young from a garage who really didn't give a shit and had no people skills (he asked about damage to the door when he meant chips on the leading edge from hitting the fence).

By the looks on it he's just going to recommend writing it off and wouldn't really speak with us about it other than to point out damage.

Says the drives side suspension is out of alignment and about a 4 inch section of inner wing is bent so 'it's not looking good' didn't help that big bits of rust were hidden on the strut top by the lights that you can now see.

Wife's pretty pissed off with it all as they said it's her fault and there's no way they'll pay out enough to cover the costs of repairs for what I think is very minor damage.

Its what I don't understand about insurance companies. They would write my car off than pay for it to be fixed yet last week they totally replaced a door costing about £1500 on my friends TT. I know it's all about how much potential money they could make but it doesn't help the car owner.

Clearly, you're not going to accept their first offer and you will be retaining the car for salvage...

You are correct sir! Tbh if the car was newer there would be no question in them fixing it as the damage is so minor.

I lost the whole front end of a mk1 Fiesta when they were really cheap but as it wasn't my fault they just fixed it, this time it's a bit different.

A few pages ago (cba to find it) I posted about a friend and neighbour who had been diagnosed with some pretty serious cancer.

Tis a very shit time of year when people pass away....

My brother in law, on dialysis for last 12 years, shrugged off bowel cancer, heart problems, a couple of small strokes and always kept his joy for life and sense of humour through everything.

A couple of weeks ago he had what seemed like a minor bump on the head and died 12 hours later. Funeral was Friday...........

Perhaps some ingenious camouflage is required

Hypothetically, if one was to post a reply to a 'Notice of intended prosecution' (80mph on a 70mph road), and didn't have any DL-size envelopes.

Would it be a good or bad idea to send it enclosed in a Christmas card, perhaps with a note wishing seasons greetings and thanks for keeping the roads nice and safe?

Your registration is almost the same as the reaction of everyone who saw that episode of The Word in the nineties.

If the phrase 'OMG' had been in common use then. Which it wasn't.

Ah yes, the weekly gamble of whether it was worth the teeth-grinding torture of Terry Christian's voice, just to see the guests. Probably was, that week.

Shit, must be the time of year. I am at a funeral on Wednesday for a 12 yr old lass but she had been very ill for a long time. Didn't stop it being a shock though. Second one this year under 16 :-(

Never a good time but Christmas seems to make it twice as bad for the families.

Back to being grumpy - watching traffic cops. They keep getting cars with no registered keeper - how the flip does that happen, and more importantly why do we allow it?

Fill In fake name and address on logbook or genuine name and address of someone you don't like, log it as in trade - cars frequently get flipped on to other dealers and there's no way I know of to update who has it now once it's in trade.

Only other way would be to take all your id to an official body and pay a fee to have them check IDs etc, guess how well that works after business hours....

As far as I can make out "no registered keeper" essentially means "in the trade".  Generally if a vehicle "in the trade" gets caught on camera doing something mildly naughty, they don't normally bother to pursue it as it's too much hassle.  Could be useful for anyone visiting Newcastle on a regular basis.

I seem to recall something akin to a sopping wet and very dead hamster.

They can still trace you even if the car is 'ghosted' in the trade. Someone moved my car from a garage forecourt onto a main road and the police got hold of me from my insurance details.

Lass that lived next door but one to me was a wrong'un, one night someone came round and lobbed a paving slab through the windscreen of her Hyundai Coupe. Called the cops and they said the car was showing as in trade, so they wanted me to confirm that I'd seen her using it.

Seems to be they'll fill out the yellow slip with a fake dealer, then the car can get passed around and nobody notices.
