The lovely Petra Kvitova was attacked in her apartment today with a knife.  She's severely injured.

That's today's grump - violence against women.

It always bugs me when there are "loopholes" like this - the episode of Traffic Cops had quite a few examples of some quite tasty motors (as well as a few sheds) that apparently didn't belong to anyone.  Of course I am not going to advocate a super draconian regime here, but there is clearly something very lacking in the system.

With cars "in trade" you can now use the on line system to transfer them in the trade so the DVLA should have an idea who has them. I won't sell a car to someone wanting to put it as a trade sale unless they can give me a letter head or business card to prove it. I am sure the DVLA will soon start to chase up traders who don't notify sales correctly.

Just eating a cream cracker and... another tooth has gone. That's four in the last month or so. That is a pretty epic failure rate by anyone's standards? Dentist is booked for just after Christmas but at this rate, there'll be nothing to go see him with!

Also (first world problems) I've been waiting in for hours for my Sainsburys delivery and it still isn't here.

The Tesco delivery turned up today with all our stuff for out Christmas dinner we made on a special christmas order. Expiry date on all the food 23rd December.

Stick Christmas up your arse Tesco!

I've since been to Aldi and got everything we need (and a lot of stuff we didn't) for less money. Should have done that in the first place.

I don't know who she is (sorry) but every day is a sad day if men have been violent to women.

An age old gripe of mine that I've noticed is happening more again recently is people driving up to junctions at 100mph and you don't think they're going to stop in time, and/or they try and push out into traffic.

Our yard's full of them, no registered keeper, stolen with keys and pool cars. I had no idea there is so much car crime until I had to go fetch/ tidy up the aftermath. Also how some folk will walk away from what are some quite desirable motors for the sake of 3-400 quid.. and happily leave sat nav and suchlike in them to go to the scrappies.

Just ignore the dates.   They are taking the fucking piss.

We saw a cheese selection in Asda yesterday.   Four or five pre-packed cheeses on a slab of MDF.    Dated 26.12.2016.

I lobbed it back in the cabinet and bought three of the cheeses that I actually liked in identical packaging to those in the mixed pack.

All dated Jan/Feb 2017.

If Asda hadn't made all the other shops shut in our town I wouldn't be buying any of their shit.

I hope they end up lobbing half their shit in the skip on the 29th.

Well Sainsburys did turn up but unfortunately an hour late and with about 50 percent of what I ordered. Everything was 'out of stock' so nothing for Christmas for me or the mutts... they enjoy their Christmas dinner of turkey with all the trimmmings while I have a veggie sausage with all the trimmings. So, no turkey, sprouts, cheese, roasties, yorkshire puds... Well done Sainsburys, excelled yourselves. Best of all, I ordered all this last week so it would be  'in stock'.

Also, forums.

There are the odd decent forum (not this one obviously :)   ), here you can talk about anything and no one gets their knickers in a twist but watch forums are dreadful and one make car ones are even worse. Plus, if you get an aging demographic with delusions of grandeur or they think they have a few quid so their opinion counts for so much more than some youngster with fuck all, then so much the worse.

So in short, I have started a riot on a RR and B forum as I am daring to change the way my car was on the day it left the factory in Crewe. MY CAR! Even though the additions are/were very costly options available when newly ordered this doesn't seem to sit right with the purists. Also, the registrar of the entire RR and B official club is being slated because he posted a picture of a RR being used for a wedding with a girl in a wedding dress astride the bonnet one leg either side of the 'spirit of ecstasy' while two chaps dressed in morning suits fight a duel with pistols over her or the car (no one knows) The picture is quite tasteful, but you can see the brides garter/thighs and the old farts have got their knickers in a right bunch, so much so that the Jürgen has quit and left the club having done a fantastic job for about 20 years.

The old farts were one of the reasons I didn't go to a club event as I don't think I would fit in: scruffy bastard in jeans and a jumper against all the rest in suits and ties.

Yahoo are spamming again. They started a year or so ago putting direct marketing/advert emails from so called sponsor companies into my inbox, as well as all other folders. I tackled them about it, mentioned I thought it was illegal and, of course, they did fuck all. In the end I took to emailing as many of the companies as I could and always made a point of swearing as much as possible (based on the fact if they were spamming me, I can say what I like back) and ha a handful of quite good responses, all of whom blamed Yahoo. Happy with this as the ones that did get back said they'd 'speak' to Yahoo about it and eventually they stopped, so I've started doing it again now. Fwiw, I'm going to report the fuckers to the Information Commissioner's Office later.

Xtriple I wouldn't even let the negative comments get to you, at the end of the day we all have different perceptions and some people need to learn if you have nothing nice to say, keep quiet. I bet they would get there backs up if you replied to threads about their cars with "it's no silver ghost" or similar

I get this a lot. it seems to be a big car / small car thing making them believe their self importance overcomes basic right of way.

I look forward to it and hope that the day they do actually pull out I can overcome my instinct to swerve and just plow into their drivers door. Having any of my shitheaps written off and getting a payout at this time of year would suit me fine TBQH.

Unlucky fella, but I suppose as their football team can't beat anyone decent, the council has to instead!

Driving around there is shit, now. Still at least it isn't like Sunderland with the 24/7 no car lanes! ;/

UPS - they have tracking info that will tell you when your parcel will arrive within an hour time slot. But you have to pay! I am the receiver not the sender, I don't expect to be stiffed for more money to get info they already have and to my mind have already paid for.

Typical scumbag yank company trying to screw you over.

I float around a few forums, but I'm guessing this is your "Wing Vents" post on RRF? Its mostly "each to their own" posts, can't really see any riot?

No, not that one. Closed group for 'official' types. On there (Rolls-Royce forums), most of them are pretty cool and are open to new idea. The Australian forum is even better as they actively promote changing stuff for 'better' or cheaper stuff.

Stop complaining about Bentley owners being snobs ( who'd a thunk it?) and post the picture of the bird with the real Spirit of Ecstasy !

DPD do this for free.

I think every other courier that has the info does. I am now sat in waiting when I have shot loads of stuff to do but no way I will go through the hassle of signing up to an account and paying for it.

UPS is an anagram for total and complete utter Bastard (watch the young ones if that doesn't make sense)

It may be very well marked in daylight TBH. In my case it was dark and raining, and I just ended up in a bus lane unknowingly. Seems like a common problem! Mrs Beard has colleagues that live in Newcastle and all of them seem to get fined......
