I've taken on too much, I didn't quite feel right about this job and I find myself standing in my kitchen at 4am having a panic attack. I'm stupid to get up this early, stupid to cycle 15 miles to work every morning in fucking winter. I was talking to my mum last night and after a little thought I need to do something else first, to ease myself in, not dive straight into a 40 hour week of manual labour and before dawn starts.

It's bloody hopeless I know, but I just can't do it. There's a job out there for me but I'll know when I find it.

It's just natural to worry about new things especially if it's something you haven't done before or in a new environment, see how it goes for a week or so before making any decisions - if you are starting that early then at least you will have a decent amount of day left after work to do something else in.

Sit down chill out everybody was the new guy/ girl at some point. Think of the money too, money makes being miserable much more pleasant...

Edit where are you there's sometimes a days labouring work on the sites I'm on which essentially consists of doing a bloody good clean up and putting stuff in the skip along with some barrow work or digging or lumping stuff about.

Today's society - dumbed down shit = easier to manipulate into accepting less.

Made the mistake of weighing myself earlier. Fast approaching 16 stone and getting close to officially obese. I've recently cut the fizzy drinks (around a litre a day minimum) completely out, now need to actually start doing any exercise and stop eating, eating and eating all day.

Eat heavier food, lifting it too your mouth will cancel some of the calories you're eating.

I have been under the Merc and Minor today and taken Cowley for a drive.   I am bloody freezing, need to sit down with a cup of tea in my comfy chair.  I don't take to my comfy chair in the front room very often but I need it for a little bit.

What the bloody fuck?   FOUR DAYS after the clock goes back there is a cocking Xmas film on telly and Mrs Rocker is WATCHING IT.

Goes back out to shed....

Had to buy fuel for one of the cars, the fact was indisputable but the choice of which was entirely mine. I chose the Bentley and £108 later I was REALLY regretting the choice!

Super unleaded £1.23 per litre!

I will have to put fuel in the other bugger as well at some point I suppose, I just don't like doing it (who said I'm strange?) so fill to the brim and pray nothing leaks/breaks down or falls out of favour. The Bentley had the same fuel in it for about 4 months as it kept going wrong and spending its day at Specialist cars, I was concerned the fuel would either evaporate or 'go off'!

I thought I would change the brake fluid on the vectra. Went ok until I got to front o/s caliper. All the other nipples needed a 10 mm spanner - this needed 11mm. It came undone but did not become loose as you would expect. Bled it through but it would not tighten up - it just litterally fell out along with the threads for the calliper.

If this was done by the previous owner he should never be allowed near spanners ever again. If a workshop has done this they should be closed down - you never screw a bigger nipple in because the threads are fucked.

I have just checked the car's paperwork - the caliper was replaced by a garage in January this year. To say I am angry is an understatement.

It was more likely an exchange caliper fitted at some point in it's life as the cheap ones often come with larger bleed screws and the threads can be a bit dodgy if the old core caliper had been sent back with broken bleed nipples.

Changed the oil on the crv today. First filter wouldn't come off so put screwdriver through it to help turn it. That didn't work so had to go to toolstation to buy proper tool , not bad £6.00. Got filter off and then noticed that new filter was wrong one. Back to motor factors to exchange it. Got right one and now all done. So the grin is that I have changed plugs , air filter , oil filter and oil for £40.00 . The grump is my elbows are know killing me cos I am too old for lying on the floor wrestling with cars.

My day at work in song form:

Adding to that the traffic looks fucking horrible and my fuel light will come on within 3 miles I think, and I haven't got any money for more fuel tonight. Fuck it, worry about that tomorrow

Going down M1 today in 50 average speed section. Got a truck 1/2 inch off the back bumper playing duel, I'm being overtaken by a truck doing 50.5 mph, and then some old bint comes down the slip road. There's clear space in front of me, but lets play match speeds and drift in. Horn eventually gets the message to bint that I cannot move out of her way.

I'm sure there used to be the rule that it's your job to put your car in a gap, not expect people to make a gap for you?

Posted

Well that was the rule.

But maybe she is entitled to a space. Perhaps she deserves it.

Have you seen those Ford ads?

I spent 10 minutes in a less than perfect environment therefore I deserve a new car!

F me is that how people really think these days?

Just spilt coke on my laptop and it wouldn't turn on again. Frantically stripped it down to the motherboard to dry it out but I'm expecting the worst :(

Posted

May be ok with a new keyboard. I may have spilt a glass of wine over mine. Various keys operating permanently and some not at all. Plugged in a usb keyboard to check and all was fine, so ordered a replacement from eBay for about £15 and all was well again.

Mine is off being fixed after I spilt whisky into it. I managed to claim it off my house insurance .

Bloody roads have entered winter surface mode. Set of lights on the way home I filter to the front on the bike and burn the cars off to get a bit of clear Road. Lights go amber, I drop clutch, forward motion achieved, revs increase as expected and then boom massive wheelspin and some very snappy fishtailing before I managed to get the thing back in shape.

Yes yes yes it's my fault for not assessing the conditions but winter can fuck off

Left the battery, ram and hard drive in a rice bag and the motherboard cleaned as best I could with a soft cloth and airbrush. Will try putting it back together tomorrow and hope for the best. Actually just set up my Onedrive a few days ago so nothing vital would be lost, but still want to access the rest of the stuff on there

Every winter I see a bloke on one of those gay MP3 things doing that from every set of lights. He just pins the throttle & fucks off up the road sideways. It's the only thing I've ever seen to make a MP3 look fun.
