Sorry if I appeared a bit anti social today. Sporty junior was mithering me to death!

Anyway, I took very few pictures, but here they are.

Lovely day out, nice to put more names to faces. Who knew standing around talking about chod could be so knackering ? I still don't reckon there were a 1000 classics there....

Pissed off I didn't win a free plaque like what brownnova did (500 for a quid off Vistaprint, I reckon) after t'Squire rounded up a few of us excited kids to get free shiny tat that weren't forthcoming.

Lots of derisory 'once you see it, you can't unsee it' comments about my nonce-mobile shiny Rover 620's reg plate from fellow Shiters.

Entrance of the day goes to Ghosty in his Jaaaaaag. Pure style and class (you had to be there).

And don't let them do ANYTHING to that Escort, especially turning into yet another bloody Mex rep.

Thank you.

Spoke to him for quite a while when he complimented my 405?!? Nice guy no intention of doing it up, he soaks it underneath in oil and wipes it over with oily rag to stop it rotting, he's apparently checking out this forum later.

Impressive collection of old carrier bags too, but that's another thread..

FL Junior and I had a grand day out, lovely chatting with your all and admiring own fine fine* selection of vehicles. After driving Alex & Sian's 2CV he has declared he will be getting one...992ef18e2082569c23e46b12654a380b.jpgf6ca42e7b053ef7adafdde87b55a0f75.jpga0c3df550ace169ceb5ae314afa19fc4.jpg18eaf6885e43f1ba3ca8322eb35e5ba3.jpg9d60453edb1c6a290d6d78c1f29717ae.jpga58c8e95e974442805a0ee107129f51e.jpg7f498475ccad521f434965698bb39d66.jpgbcb5dd4da731e9f7076924b214523ab0.jpg

Whose is the Morris Traveller on Serck reflectives? ?

As usual it was a cracking day, great to catch up with folk and meet some new faces.
I'm home, tired and sunburnt (as usual) after 260 miles in the cheap jeep. The cable tied exhaust fix has held up well, and hopefully will last my trip to Accrington later this week.

Thanks for organising the tickets etc @brownnova and @strangeangel for the gazebo, and whoever brought the tea supplies, sorry I forget who that was.

@Cavcraft, I liked your suggestion of doing our own awards … Least distance travelled, most gaffer tape, most leaks etc. maybe next year ….

Squire Dawson. Sadly, only the front plate is like that, but it is absolutely delightful.

Amazing day in great company. Huge stand, great tea (thanks Mrs Brownnova) and a wonderful mix of motors. The traditional car swap after everyone else had buggered off home was lovely. Will sort out some pics at some point...

I can relate, was there in the green V70 but only chatted to a couple of peeps as trying to prevent kids from running off to shiny and expensive roundabouts and bouncy slides was somewhat distracting.

Mrs odm was also tired* after a party last night.

If nothing else, I am infinitely more familiar with the 850/V70 crossover parts bin.

And thank you to the bank of @NorthernMonkey and @MrsNorthernMonkey for the get out jail cash :)

There was one car the girls were interested in...it’s a start at least

We've just got back to catsinthewelder towers for meat and bread based food products, before I get down the road to home.

I've just driven the 405 rather fast across majy roads and I sort of regret it, ad the zx is just going to feel broken now, I miss the 1.9td torque wave!

I do have pics, but I cba to post them now! I spent all my money too, on cool stuff so sod it

Ah! Didn't even twig that was why the 305 ended up next to mine, Brilliant shot, I'm keeping that one, mind if I steal it for Fakebook?

It's odd, I never really gelled with the 406 during my brief time with one, 405 was totally and utterly different, and pretty perfect in every way... Now I want one!

Not a problem. Might even see if I have one actually cropped nicely. That was the higher angle...

Was a great day out for sure, definitely worth the trip from Newcastle. It was great to talk to many of you guys and I finally got the chance to drive one of my dream cars (Estima Lucida lol)! And the weather wasn't too bad either, perfect!

The day dawned earlier over Chez_brownnova where the Saabs had adopted a new friend for the evening...

Once the Saabs had got over the disappointment of being left at home we set off and on arrival found that several people were already in situ. Some marshalling later and we had four rows of quality* motors!

Up until About 1pm I hadn’t even left our corner so ventured into the show for spottage.

So... on hearing Les announce the 80s section I got footed it with Cleon-Fonte and Rob T to the show ring

Where we proceeded to be ignored by the judging panel.

We lined up some Pugs for an 05 group shot.

I took very few photos because I spent the day chatting!

Great to meet friends old and new. No need for thanks for organising because it genuinely is my pleasure to be at this event. Thanks for coming and making this the biggest Chumley ever (to my knowledge!) I honestly had the best time!

As above, I was too busy gassing and drinking tea to take many photos. I did, like certain other people, purchase some useful* items from the jumble stalls, though.

...And it stalled on entry!

My God I look awful in the Cityrover picture! Anyway, lovely meeting and talking to you all and it'll certainly be the first out of many AS trips I hope to do in the future!

Thanks to everyone who came and made it a cracking day.  We made it back here quite late so poor Sam is looking at a long drive home after eating butties in the dark due to a power cut.

The highlight was the post show test-driving with Pleasure wagon + BX on a trailer being a particular delight to watch even when my son was driving it ?

I enjoyed the delights of the Lincoln, the Cedric and the City Rover.  A little practice in autos was helpful for the drive home.

Wish we could have stayed a bit longer and let people have a go in the 305.  Or indeed to have socialised a bit more; I'm a bit socially awkward at the best of times but there were many, many new faces and I had grumpy family to keep entertained.  Gutted to have realised some of the people and cars there only after the event.

305 got us home cruising at 77 up the m6, Barnard Castle to Tow Law was immense fun  as the 305 can be hustled and make it all look so easy.  Thanks in particular to @brownnova for organising and letting me have a go of the 2cv, @dollywobbler for sun cream which was a pleasant surprise to need,  @Ghosty for just being awesome and also massive apologies if my kids made any mess eating chips on the banner.

Oh, and @task for letting me have a go of the V8 MGB and being obviously the scariest person in the world to Chas, at least when he's sitting in a car.  And coming along less than 24 hours after getting back from driving round Romania

Oh, and @cms206 for buying the best fiat 500 of the show!

And @Iamgrootfor bringing the second best 405!
