Are these any good @Stinkwheel?

Yes they are, had 2 diesel visas. Much simpler and more normal than the hydro cars. Loads of mpg and respectable fun performance for an old diesel if you drive it like a Frenchman 😂 or reliable practical and frugal transport if you don’t drive everywhere ‘pied a plancher’ as they used to say

Jesus H Christ on a neon pink unicycle, what the fuck?!

My dad and I are restoring a series 1, and the thought of replacing the sides of the hard top with perspex did cross my mind. This proves it's a terrible idea. Let's not even start on the rest of it...

I really like that for the money.

I had one just like that, it was faultlessly reliable but also getting very crispy, dull as ditchwater to drive mind

Had one, same engine, colour and trim.

Mine wasn't the best example and had *lots* of issues or I'd have kept it; stupidly thought I'd be able to pick up another cheaply... WRONG.

1600 went well and was mega on fuel, loads of space inside and drove very European. Had I a grand I'd replace my V70 with that tomorrow.

Thank you.

Also: dibs, plz.

Mine was a Scottish car all it's days and had rot in a couple of really awkward places - there are two triangular recesses just ahead of the rear arches at the inner sills which had rotted from previous shit repairs. That, coupled with every single window regulator being goosed, leaky brake cylinders, temperamental locks and it being a £300 stopgap shitter which various bad body repairs... think I sold it for more than I paid for it.

Mine was 100% mechanically reliable and while not exciting I really liked it to drive, very Japanese to look at inside but felt tight and drove well. Don't think I ever saw less than 40mpg, the 1600 engine's a little honey and really well suited to the Carina E.
