Had one, same engine, colour and trim.

Mine wasn't the best example and had *lots* of issues or I'd have kept it; stupidly thought I'd be able to pick up another cheaply... WRONG.

1600 went well and was mega on fuel, loads of space inside and drove very European. Had I a grand I'd replace my V70 with that tomorrow.

Sounds like an endorsement @cms206

Thank you.

Thank you.

Also: dibs, plz.

Mine was a Scottish car all it's days and had rot in a couple of really awkward places - there are two triangular recesses just ahead of the rear arches at the inner sills which had rotted from previous shit repairs. That, coupled with every single window regulator being goosed, leaky brake cylinders, temperamental locks and it being a £300 stopgap shitter which various bad body repairs... think I sold it for more than I paid for it.

Mine was 100% mechanically reliable and while not exciting I really liked it to drive, very Japanese to look at inside but felt tight and drove well. Don't think I ever saw less than 40mpg, the 1600 engine's a little honey and really well suited to the Carina E.

So you are buying it?

MOT history seems tame.

But there is a rust advisory

Anyone got any real life experience with these?

I really like that for the money.

If it’s as good as most Toyota cars are I think it would be a good daily.

colour is 100% not me buy hey, at a grand you cannot get picky

I have a 2.0 GLi estate that I bought off here last August. So bigger-engined and better spec, but the the basic qualities of space and good, everyday useability will be shared with that one on eBay. I really like mine.

I had no issue getting a replacement radiator and various service parts.

How did he get out of it?

Ninja's out the boot or (what we used to do) park outside then roll the car in. Pull it back out next morning - used to have to do that in one house as you could not get out of either of my wfe's cars (924 or an Escort - so not mahoosive things)

[edit] the ad shows it's on skates - sneaky

You'd think with it being on skates they'd drag it outside for the photographs, but that's a bloody fantastic car. Wonder what's happened with the door card, almost looks burnt, possibly a dropped fag end or someone's been careless with a welder?
