I think it will have a DPF - I could check but if I recall from earlier research, the 520d had a DPF but 320d didn't

The E9x BMWs didn't have the N47 fitted until early 2008 iirc. Our E91 is a 2007 model with the M47N2 lump and no dpf. I chose it over newer cars at the time purely because of the less problematic setup.

I'd assume the 5 series adopted the N47 at a similar time.

Correct but I believe that E6x with M47 adopted DPF earlier

You can now own the car that inspired the McLaren F1's gullwing doors for £1350. Just needs an engine.

I really should have bought the 350 quid example immediately I posted it here years ago, it was sold shortly after.

It would seem there are differences in the engines in theses and Corollas. Video cannot be embedded.

This is now £1300 and relatively local.

I also noted with some enthusiasm that these can be mapped to 200bhp and beyond... Yes I know you don't do that to old shiters but YOLO and OLLI.

Can someone tell me why I shouldn't buy it because I've got cash burning a hole in my pocket. I should really get an estate but this ticks a lot of boxes.

Mot runs out next month but the history looks good.

I always thought it slightly odd that the M47 in BMWs can be mapped to over 200 brake yet the M47R fitted to Rover 75s and Freelanders seems to be limited to about 160.  I wonder what the difference is (apart from being rotated 90 degrees obvs)?
