What happened to warrant a sign that big?

Sputum. Was a big health habit, long before smoking.

Shame the current owner is threatening to cut it down into a pickup if it doesn't sell. Turns out it was converted in the 1940s for a Devon landlord to transport his darts team! Looks like it must have sat in storage for some time after he'd finished with it.

Two thousand nine hundred quid?

When I saw the picture I immediately assumed five figures.

I'm sure it has issues, rust and all the rest of it but my god, what an absolutely gorgeous car. Yes I can see it's had a blow-over and there's overspray all over the rad.

It must have blown people's minds in the Seventies. Imagine driving a Morris Oxford and seeing this, you'd have thought aliens had invaded.

I'm having impure thoughts about this, and yes I know you can't get parts for it and it'll need rotor seals blah blah blah.

If @Schaefft or @HMC had any balls they'd be low-loadering this by now (this is a joke to provoke a reaction, by the way).

Absolutely not opposed to owning a rotary but since I'm usually avoiding things older than late 80s it would have to be in the form of a Eunos Cosmo (the '89 up one), which naturally would be even more of a liability.

I bought a mint condition Dinky Toys version of this, complete with working lights, when I was a kid. Same colour too. It was one of my favourite diecast for years and it always seemed a super modern design even though it was an old model. It was years until I eventually got to see a full-size example on the metal. Still an attractive design today.

The one above seems damn cheap for a running, low owner car. As you say, just needs a V8 swap and it to make its way to the westcountry 😉.

We rarely seem to get numberplate obfuscation awards any more… but this champion should get some kind of award…

Where is the numberplate obfuscation award thread?

@egg maybe a bit late for you, but Mk1 diesels must be rare on the ground now.

yes they are, there's a few being looked after on the various Facebook groups, but not many.  There's only 500 odd taxed MK1's now total. Looks an honest and fair ad.

Just digging a bit more, probably around 40 diesels actually taxed and on the road.
