eBay tat volume 3.

Do we believe this is really an A-series? It looks too weedy, more like a Transit with an A-series nose stuck on.

The unattached number plate in one of the photos comes back as a non-specific blue Ford, 2.4litre Diesel with a revenue weight of 3.5t.

Billy would know. I miss @Cavcraft.

Hyundai Tragedy, my dad’s work used to have one of these as a pool car, every week there were fights for the keys to a Sprinter, a Getz and a knackered Focus for the drive back to Scotland as these were so shite.

Now hang on there.

My step father had two of these back to back. He moved to them after getting sick of being mugged by a succession of Renault Espace's going titsup, especially gearboxes (these were new).  Cheap, slow and agricultural maybe but very reliable.  He's been with the marque ever since.

I do wonder where the the other two rear seats are mind.  And you do get free car washes for a month...

The "A" cab shared most components with the Transit and the most notable differences are the longer and wider wings, longer hood and a different grille.

Indeed, but that one’s got a narrower track that doesn’t need the flared arches and it’s on titchy Transit wheels. It also looks unnaturally low for an A-series.

The 'Base' model A Series was a 3.5 tonne gvw so probably as you say mostly transit.

Early 416 auto, with only 22,000 miles (and the best colour for one of these imo). Weird ad as it’s £1200 buy it now or “I’ll just let the auction run it’s course”. Currently £225, giffer scrapes included.

A face only a mother could love. An unusual thing, according to the the seller parts are available through Nissan UK - I'm not sure if I would want the burden of a 2004 luxury limo even with that caveat.

And there was I thinking the 1994–1998 Ford Scorpio was ugly.

I’m always happy to hear some love for old tat like this. I think their hatred came from exactly what you mention. Cheap, slow and agricultural isn’t what you’re hoping for doing Bristol to Glasgow on a Friday night. I thought the same about the seats, and it is advertised as a 7-seater, but it looks mighty practical as a 5 seater

This is identical to the car my parents had that I learnt to drive in (RIP AF54 XAJ). It was lovely, but always broken and this one seems no different.

Gearbox issues, obvs, random limp home modes that no-one can diagnose and the boot sometimes refuses to close (ours did all three). But, I’d have another.

£300 spares or repairs

You're spot on there mind. It was bought as a local runaround kind of wagon, kids, grand kids (and after retiring early) foster kids and their kids....  and a big daft dog too. There were some longer runs but not many, and I can see that a weekly run between Glasgow and Bristol wouldn't be anticipated with glee and hope.  He moved onto a 7 seat Santa Fe (?) which was a huge leap forward although the rearmost seats were underfloor types and small.
