I'll have you know that my 1997 Alfa 147 (yes!) had a similar interior.

When I bought it, it had a cigarette burn in the passenger seat and the dealer fixed it. I was absolutely intrigued watching them repair it. You would never know that it had been done either.

I've been getting seriously itchy feet over this lovely old barge.

I already have one aging executive saloon making a nuisance of itself to the neighbours, another won't hurt, I'm sure.

Bit expensive for the mileage unless it's in excellent condition, but very nice otherwise.

Yep, 1.7 was transverse, 2.0 was inline.  They had different wheelbases too.
