The squeaky bum factor is even worse on the VW CR TDI, they're 270° rather than 180°!

People do reuse the bolts, but they're about £3 from the dealer so why take the chance!?

Have never owned a torque wrench that wasn't battered and secondhand or a degree gauge for that matter. Always have new bolts mind and clean the threads the rest is just guess work/experience/luck. Might well be doing it wrong though not had an issue yet.

Chuffed today as I can get to tools. Garage shuffle much shite chucked and found most notably my new jack handle. Fuckers been missing since the second time i used it with much improvisation.

Loads of vintage product found too. Lots binned and some treasured.

If I had to turn a piddly little bolt like that through 270 degrees in an aluminium cylinder head I think I’d be sick 🤣

Another 85 mile run today, weather's hotter and I put E10 in the tank because it's just gonna burn it anyway, 13.8 mpg (16.5 uk mpg).

Electronic ignition has helped that significantly.

The owners of a holiday home down the road have been cleaning out and wanted to get rid of something. I don't know what this is called in English, but I call it a shed on wheels. Got it for free in exchange for removing it and it doesn't need much work either just a new roof and a few small things. So happy with this.

But transpoting it home was among the more questionable things that have been done in a while.

This was a struggle but has got it in place now.

Had to use a smaller tractor than the Volvo and since the others are occupied, the parts Zetor had to be used and it doesn't run properly and doesn't have brakes etc.  And the oil supply for the oil filter which the previous owner has bodged, failed and got oil all over the place and just managed to switch off the engine before it ran out of oil. Bodged it together again and filled up the engine with oil and continued.

And since it was a light 2wd tractor, it struggled with traction and also got stuck several times so had to use a come along a lot.

And finally in place which makes me happy good to get it done.20230615_134136.thumb.jpg.575f1b66b59108e32c83edf31a5108d3.jpg

That looks like a very useful shed on wheels. Looks quite thick too, so could be useful in the winter?

Yes it is insulated which is good. As the plan is to use it for storage and make a sharpening station for saw chains in it, so the insulation will come in handy as I will use it in winter.

You know how when you're on a B road in a car and you just have the perfect drive?

The sun is shining, the music's right,.any traffic you meet is met when there's an overtake on, you nail the braking point, the downshifts, the turn in, you pick up the throttle perfectly mid corner and power out with just a little squirm. Not travelling fast but having a blast.

That was this mornings commute on the bike, it felt like I did everything right and everything fell my way. Bliss.

Corrected you as it is father's day and it's the one day i get to be a bit pedantic.

What you wrote was:

'istory is repeating it is self

Are we good?

Maybe you could also have written:

History repeats itself.

Or

History repeated itself.

I don't think there's anything wrong with using the present participle "history is repeating" but I concur your point about itself and it's self..

This made me chuckle

"We still used it in the evening but it didn't turn me on anymore, so it's faulty"

Thank goodness there's a picture of a TV otherwise I'd wonder what it is they're selling 🤣🤣
