Seconded.

My tits are not sugary (but 'tis the weekend later - who knows?)

p.s. - airlines. T'missus just got a refund from EasyJet for flights on the weekend of lockdown itself. Notification of refund was about four weeks ago and the money just turned up on credit card. She has a Ryanair out and BA return to Norway still slated for late August so waiting to see if either airline cancels.

Yes, BL are in Welwyn. A bit far up to bring my CX, but if there's nobody else available to do CX jobs, then it would have to be them.
Brodie is nearer to me but I was dissuaded by their considerable reluctance to book the CX in.

Brodie’s have not had a good reputation since the late lamented Andrew Brodie sold it and went off to play with an EE lightning.
I could be wrong, but I fear they will have been the ones who cocked up the engine rebuild on the SM mentioned above and I also fear the reason they don’t want to book in your CX is that they no longer have anyone there familiar with them.

Just as well I found Garage Dubois-Loizou. They are easier to get to as well.

I did think when he was talking about a retired Wing Commander that it might be an Austin Allegro Equipe Automatic, but then I remembered that Douglas Bader died quite a while ago.

Now I know why the previous owner had difficulty getting in and out of it.

I have difficulty getting in and out of them even with the roof off, try an Exige

Or an Evora even; more likely to go wrong too. Invisibility Grey; good if unsafe choice, ideal for evading the forces of the law.

Elite/Eclat hopefully.

I would love one of those! Esprits now stupidly expensive.

Evoras are easy to get in and out of , they don't have the massive sill that the Elise and Exige have.

They rebuilt the engine on my friends Sm, then he told me they ( he’s a Citroen and 2cv specialist)  took it apart and did it properly. I have driven in it, and it is fabulous and terrifying at the same time. See profile pic.. Stuart ager I think runs Brodie’s now. The Sm is for sale -I can put interested buyers in touch if needed.

I've met the fella. He's the one who wouldn't book my CX in. On the day I visited, he had two CXs in, one S1 Turbo up on the lift, and one S2 Turbo. Plus one mechanic who looked more tired than the cars.

I think he wasn't too happy at being presented with my business card with my contact details.
