Behold!

A complete Caltex StarFleet kit, as found in all good company car glove boxes.

Judging by the adverts, I thing it is from about 2004.

Best of all, it cost me 50 cents, Bargain!

Rubbish brakes though.

I finished my mortgage today. That's gotta be grin worthy.

Here's a tip. Set up a standing order today of the same amount into a savings account or increase the amount you pit onto your pension by the same amount.

Not forever but for say 12 months.

My breakdown cover renewal came today from the yellow van people, yes it was cheaper than last year, I rang them and got £30 knocked off within a minute of being on the phone, part of me thinks I should've held out

The Mazda passed its test this week, Actually failed on a tyre that I thought would pass, but that is not a real fail !

That's 24 years and it has not even started to rust yet. When we did the rear brakes recently all the bolts etc were easy to shift. Did get an advisory for front strut top bushes about to fail so will attend to that before the next test.

Happiness..

How my values have changed since coming onto this site...

When I joined, we owned three cars, a VW1303 that had been in the garage for a year or two, and our everyday motors, a VW T2 for me and a 944S for the wife. I thought that we probably had more cars than anyone else in the world - ever.

Here I am eight years later, we still own the same three cars, but we also own, a Scirocco, a Jaguar and a fucking Vel Satis.

All interesting cars, all bought off here, and none of which I would have dared to buy before discovering shite.

Had a bit of a grumble today from the wife today when I mentioned the nice looking Volvo that's being raffled...

"We are not having SEVEN cars!"

Followed swiftly by, "It's not an estate is it?"

That’s great, really. How’s China for him? I’ve several university customers in Hong Kong, but that’s obviously not really close culturally. I’ve just read a David sedaris book in which he describes lunch. First catch it!

He's having a great time.

Since they arrived on Monday, they've played concerts in Beijing, Tianjin and Wuhan (where the autograph sesh happened).

Wuhan is Manchester's twin city, so they're spending the next few days doing workshops, etc. as artists-in-residence at the Qintai Concert Hall.

Then on to Shanghai for the showcase concert and the international percussion competition.

At a reasonably posh do with Mrs Ruff and her work bods for the end of term.

The food has given me agonising gut ache.

Edit; well isn't this just in the wrong place?

Chaseracer.....musical offspring must be identified (third from left type will suffice). In case of future fame I will have to know which he/she is.

I cannot go through life not knowing that the father of a world famous and very wealthy musician was once on Autoshite at the same time as me.

And i have seen the video with Dollywobbler on the piano so life is nearly complete.

That was a great little interlude, wasn't it?  I knew Ian could play bass, but I'd forgotten that he's also a very competent piano-fighter.

Unless it's a dash of a Space Shuttle you're going to have a lot of surplus, think you'd best look out for an estate car.

Exhaust rehung with bell wire and the strap from my camping chair bag. Will lob some big cable ties around it when I get home and probably just leave it rather than buying more cheap hangers.

Where can this video be found?  It sounds like the sort of thing I need to see.

Thats thoughtful.

Phone rings at the AA call centre

"Yeah I've broken down on the M1, its a green Avantime"

"FFS, yeah we're on our way mate, be about 8 hours"

"Don't worry about a low-loader, just send anything with a towbar, I've got my own dolly to put the Avantime on"

"Nice one, see you in 25 minutes"
